All we need is a simple phone call, folks. Can't explain the importance here.

Texas HB 1451 regulating dog and cat breeders will have a Public Hearing in
the Senate Criminal Justice Committee at 1:30 pm Thursday, May 12th, Room
2E.20. It's
no longer the "Puppymill" bill ... nor the Commercial Breeder Bill ... nor
the
High Volume Breeder Bill. It's now defined as just the "dog and cat
breeder" bill, which it was all along. We call it the "Pet Elimination
Bill" as USDA standards can't be met in a home environment. We've done
multiple alerts, our lobbyists have done a great job, and we feel a full
blown onslaught of phone calls and emails at this time would be detrimental
to our cause. For more information in case of meeting time change, contact
the committee clerk: Michaela Bernacchio (512) 463-0345. You can watch the
hearing on the State Legislature website.

We're in the home stretch! RPOA networks with many other groups and all of
you are doing a great job! Some of the groups are listed below by our
friends at Sportsmen's & Animal Owners' Voting Alliance. When this is over,
everyone will be thanked publicly on our website when we have more time.
It's
been a little crazy this session with 11 bad bills! Thanks for
understanding.

here are the Senators who are on the committee that will vote yes or no on 1451. Call them and voice your opposition to 1451. Lets stop this bill from getting out of committee.

The danger here is greater than it might appear. If this bill gets out of committee the chance of it passing on its own is remote because of the log jam of legislation in the capitol. BUT....there is always the chance of this bill being attatched to a big bill that has got to pass, budget or redistricting bill would be my guess. The Dems could sell their vote if this bill is attached. Get my drift.

Its important, stand up for whats right, make some calls tomorrow.
