There will be even more discussion on this topic now.
I was checking email and saw a news topic about feral hogs. There are several main stream local news crews doing feral hog hunting stories right now. It will soon go national, and we do not need that.
I hope there is enough correct information to keep the uninformed public aware of whats going on. We all know this is a fun, and also necessary thing we do. Most of our friends and neighbors are in agreement, or can at least see the value in what we do. The trouble comes when outsiders get one bad view of hunting hogs with dogs. That bad view will be as easy as google and you tube.
Be careful what you post on you tube. Keep a positive image of hog hunting, and pass the word.

That was last season wasn't it? I remember seeing that a while back, she would have a heart attack if she saw a real cut from a hog that was from the barbwire fence it ran into.

i watched it last night. my girlfried was even laughing. I think it is a big joke. at the first of the show it says people should not try hog hunting and only a few brave trapers do it. i know of hundreds of people who hog hunt. And who goes into a place and gets on a huge hog, does not catch him, and turns around and leaves.

i seen a clip on the one from last night where they had a stag hound with a web cam and made a clean catch. i thought they did a real good job making the sport look good they talked about the problems and the danger of the wild hogs and that they need to be gone. the general public sure dont need to see 5 or 6 dogs chewing up a pig thats the crap that is gona make it illegal to run hogs with dogs thats what i dont understand.

To me, it favors the place they caught the hog on the vineyard property. Honestly I never paid attention til I read thru the latest posts.

Truth be known, I'm pretty sure a lot of us have hunted that same "sucky" brushpile at one time or another...

The show , however corny to us, does seem to try and stress how vital what we love to do is to helping control the rampant over population of the dangerous and vicious ferral hogs. It also is done in a way that should seem reasonably humane to most people. Bad PR could kill the sport quick.

We never hunted it, but did spend some time on that property visiting.
