After 5 seconds by texas laws they have to take the dog off!they should of stop the baying in let the pup that didn't catch to finish the rest of the remainder time on the clock!!! Then they had the nerve the dq my pup when my help dog catch in my pup was still baying!  well according to tx law. it is illegal to even hold bay events, they classify it as dog fighting. if you force another dog to fight another animal, its the same as dog fighting. there was a thread on here about it not long ago. if im wrong then correct me, but im sure im right. 1 of the admins posted the law. here is the law for livestock, and Yes feral hogs or considered livestock. Sec. 42.09.  CRUELTY TO LIVESTOCK ANIMALS.  (a)  A person commits an offense if the person intentionally or knowingly:(1)  tortures a livestock animal;(2)  fails unreasonably to provide necessary food, water, or care for a livestock animal in the person's custody;(3)  abandons unreasonably a livestock animal in the person's custody;(4)  transports or confines a livestock animal in a cruel and unusual manner;(5)  administers poison to a livestock animal, other than cattle, horses, sheep, swine, or goats, belonging to another without legal authority or the owner's effective consent;(6)  causes one livestock animal to fight with another livestock animal or with an animal as defined by Section 42.092;(7)  uses a live livestock animal as a lure in dog race training or in dog coursing on a racetrack;(Cool  trips a horse; or(9)  seriously overworks a livestock animal. It is an exception to the application of this section that the conduct engaged in by the actor is a generally accepted and otherwise lawful:(1)  form of conduct occurring solely for the purpose of or in support of:(A)  fishing, hunting, or trapping; or(B)  wildlife management, wildlife or depredation control, or shooting preserve practices as regulated by state and federal law;. so i dont think tx has a law governing bay pens, in an asspect of law, bay pens are illegal if the LEO wants to push the issue. know the law before spouting off about it.

your talkin about catch. a baying event is not illegal. the law state 7 97-41-18. (1) For the purposes of this section, "hog" means 8 a pig, swine or boar. 9 (2) It is unlawful for any person to organize or conduct any 10 commercial event commonly referred to as a "catch" wherein there 11 is a display of combat or fighting among one or more domestic or 12 feral canines and feral or domestic hogs and in which it is 13 intended or reasonably foreseeable that the canines or hogs would 14 be injured, maimed, mutilated or killed. that mean no catchin. bayevent is basiclly a herding event it is supposed to be your dogs ability to control a hog until you can get there just like in the woods. now rather everyone follows the rules i dont know but we put on a trial and every pen that we attend regular follows rules with the catch out. and most are going to 3 sec catchouts now too. yall shouldnt be bashing the trials we are supposed to together it is all part of a hog dog mans heritage. that dog people are supposed to try to preserve so future generations of our children can enjoy as we do.

All bay pens are ran differently and im sure if you would have asked politely Mr Calloway would have made things right. In the Puppy Bay, the pups are judged individually but are given the option to run with another pup. They allow this because pups usually do better with another dog. If one catches out then the other is given a score. Its not a 2 dog puppy bay where they are judged as one like the regular 2 dog. Now if they make it to a bay off, they are ran by themselves. The only way around this is if you only allow them to be ran by themselves.
