Check out our friend Susan Wolf's website for a sample letter to Governor
Perry and see the growing list of all the groups that have signed on in
OPPOSITION to HB 1451. If your group hasn't signed on yet, it can be done
by emailing the address for SAOVA at the website. We're faxing the list to
Governor Perry each time it is updated. Thanks, Susan!

RPOA is networking with many animal groups all over the country. Since our
Texas Governor Rick Perry is "thinking about running for president" now it
is appropriate that he hears from everyone - no matter what state you live
in -- as to why he should veto the HSUS Texas Anti-Breeder Bill HB 1451.
The numbers are being tallied and we need your help. This is Texas and
"animal rights" activists aren't welcome here no more!"
HB 1451 is not written to regulate dog and cat breeders but rather to
eliminate them. The "commercial" and "high volume" breeder wording has been
removed and reveals the true intent of the bill -- all dog and cat breeders
in Texas eventually.
Please contact Governor Perry at these numbers below and ask that he veto HB
1451.

Interesting article at The Dog Place:
http://www.thedogplace.org/LEGISLATION/HB1451-Perry-1106.aspTEXAS HB 1451 COULD BE NATIONAL LAW IN 2013
May 29, 2011 - If Texas Governor Rick Perry doesn't veto HB 1451, it could
become a NATIONAL animal rights law. Here's why.
Last week Rick Perry said on network news that he is "thinking about"
running for President. Rush Limbaugh said Perry for President would be a
"game changer" and regardless of party affiliation, most Americans would
agree. Perry is powerful. And he's a busy guy, what with all the thinking
and strategizing going on in his camp. He doesn't have time to read every
word of every bill that someone with a vested interest puts on his desk for
signature.
It does not matter which state you're in! If enough of you take 2 minutes
out of your busy day to protect your own vested interest, RICK PERRY WILL
GET THE MESSAGE! Send a message to Governor Rick Perry and ask him to "VETO
HB 1451" the misnamed "Puppy Mill Bill." Perry's campaign managers will get
a national message loud and clear. That is, if dog and cat owners care
enough to fight for their pets - and for their Constitutional Rights to own
Property, to be free of Search and Seizure, and the right to Privacy.
The following excerpts are from Diane Amble, RPOA Texas Outreach and
Responsible Pet Owners Alliance, "Animal welfare, not animal 'rights' and,
yes, there is a difference." They ask you to please forward and have
everybody call every day if possible. The Governors office only cares about
the numbers and which side you are on.
