One Second after.    A EMP hits and re have to restart civilization.  Of Coures Fiction but many of the techniques for rebuilding modern civilization are not too far fetched.

As far as books go, check out "Call of the Hounds" by Del Cameron.  It is a nice read.

Not sure what his dumb response was to that, but I can take you to the exact spot where it was taken in Mallory Swamp, I still own the truck, and my buddy now owns my old dog box.  Freaking pu!?y is a joke.  I feel sorry for anyone who has ever had any dealings with him.

The Quest and the Quarry by Gordon Hutchinson is a good book, its about hunting deer off of horseback with dogs in around the 1950's-60's along the Mississippi river!  Another good one is The story of Edgar Sawtelle, about a boy that grows up with a line of dogs his daddy breeds.

I think I can honestly say he is an idiot.  He will leach on to anyone that will give him the time of day.  In closing, he is a total waste of oxygen.   Cool

Sean, if you see this.  Take note.   Wink

Have you guys checked out High Lonesomes website, they have tons of hunting dog books, the owner hunted whippets and is still in business, think the place is out of new mexico, has a lot of early lion and jaguR hunting with hound books including Lilly, the Lee brothers and Obe cory, unbeleivable to read about cat hunting with foxhounds in early texas, some of Lees and cory and others were caching 20 o 40 lions a year plus all of the bobcats when south texas was all brush instead of game fenced rachettes full of 2 hogs per acrelol

I recommend Cormac McCarthy.  I have read the Border Trilogy which includes All The Pretty Horses the movie from probably 10 years back.  He also wrote Blood Meridian which is also a good one.

No Country for Old Men is a good book as well. Go get "OIL" by Upton Sinclair, its what the movie "there will be blood" was based on. Very good

i like to read about things that actually happened.

A Trail is Never too Cold--is a book about Jess Sweeten the sheriff of Henderson County.

Indian Depredations in the State of Texas 1830-1885--Actual accounts of indian attacks in the state of Texas. They deserved anything we did to them.

I have read many books on the battles in the pacific during WW2. These are actual accounts of battles and things that actually happened. You won't believe what those guys went through.

D Days in the Pacific
The Pacific
Islands of the Damned
Chester W Nemitz
Phantom Warrior
Battle of the Leyte Gulf
Marine Sniper
I'm Staying with my Boys
China Marine
Guadalcanal Diary
Shadows in the Jungle
With the Old Breed
War Stories 11
You'll Be Sor-ree
The Story of WW11
The Thoughest Fighting in the World

Those will get you started. You can go on Amazon and buy old books that are used real cheap. I go the the bibliography in the back of the books and look at the references. Then I go on line and buy those books
