As the coon hunters were heading at for their second night at the LSWDA Coon Hunt, a group of us slipped out to chase some swine. Grin Our group consisted of CircleC, jls41, catchrcall, Bump and myself. We also had a young man named Chris along on his first hog hunt. We finally got one started and my Tweety and Hunter got it bayed. When got over there, the bay broke and it took them a while to get it lined out and bayed again. Somebody's little jagd got there, the bay broke again, the race was on... and we got smoked. Shocked

I put Tweety on the buggy and we were gonna road Luke and Hunter back toward the trucks. Along the way, Rex's little jagd cut left up a creek bottom. We moved on and stopped to watch the Garmin. Luke trailed from about 3/4 mile out and came bayed 600 yards from us. My two got there and the bay held. We got to within 50 yards, Rex and I sent the bulldogs in. They rolled off in the pond, Rex jumped in like an Olympic diver, with Lance right behind him. I thought Chris was right behind me... but he hit the mud, sunk to the top of his boots and got ejected out of them!!! He did a few flips, got it back together and came in to stick his first hog. Chris was shaking so bad, but never hesitated... he was still on cloud nine when he left at 4:00 am. Grin

It was good to see everyone again... a good hunt with good friends. Lance, you be careful when you head back over to the sand box... looking forward to doing it again when you get back home.

Chris, Rex and Lance with a decent boar. Chris took the head to do a Euro mount...

Sound like y'all had a good time. I didn't even get finished reading the part about Chris falling in the mud because my mind started thinking about Chris(circlec)  bogged up in the mud and falling. I had a good laugh before I continued on. Grin

Chris, this is Lance.  It was sure good to meet you, and good hunting with you.  If you ever get up central Texas way I'd sure hunt with you again.  Glad you had a good time, it's hard to beat the rush from that first hog.

Guys, thanks for the hunt I had a great time with good folks as always.  Thanks for the invite, it was much appreciated by me and Cason both even though he played out before we got to go.  He was pretty pumped that he was invited too.
