The comment by Anstamm regarding TX HB 1451:
*Commercial dog breeders are already subject to 90 pages of federal
regulation. The Humane Society of the US (HSUS) and other animal-rights
organizations are conducting a campaign to introduce so-called
"anti-puppy-mill" laws in all 50 states. These bills would impose similar
regulations on hobby and home breeders. These bills are proposed under the
guise of "protecting" animals, but animal cruelty and neglect are already
illegal. The real purpose of these laws is to make dog breeding so expensive
and complicated that most of us will eventually drop out. Sen. Santorum's
support for the federal PAWS bill contributed to his downfall in PA, and
Gov. Rick Perry's signature on HB 1451 in Texas will hurt his political
future with the community of dog breeders. BTW, Americans spend billions on
their pets each year, so if we dog breeders are strangled by government
regulation, the economy will definitely know we are gone! If you love dogs,
for heaven's sake, be kind to dog breeders.*
