So I have a hard time admitting this, but for the past year I have been having a lot of trouble with my faith. I am ashamed to say that there have been times where I really wondered if there was a god, and if there was then why didn't he care about me. Well, I got my answers today. (BTW, if this makes no sense, please bear with me, it's 3 a.m. and I'm crying LOL)
Had my first rodeo in 10 years and my first near death experience in my lifetime. Was loading horses today, and had one gelding throw a temper tantrum in the trailer with me in it. Long story short, he set back, lunged forward, pinned me up against the gate with his chest, then set back again, knocked me down and I hit my head, then he sulled up and fell over the top of me. It took about 2 mins for someone to find a knife and cut him loose, but it sure felt like an eternity... Really shook me up. All I could think was "I've got to get out of here" and then I couldn't... Other than a slight headache, and a few bumps and bruises I am okay, thank god (I mean that more literal than anyone could imagine.)
Then, I talked myself into entering and runnin barrels on a horse I bought a while back that was supposed to have been a real bad a** in his day. Well, I've been practicing and doing great, so I figured why the heck not... I get to the rodeo today, and this horse is acting like a complete fool. So I was sitting on my truck bed, scratching and talking to him trying to get him to calm down a little, and I had my first chat with the Lord that I've had in a long time. I said "Lord, I don't know where your taking me, because I NEVER wanted to run barrels, but here I am, and this is where you have put me, so Father, I ain't asking to win this thing, but can I please just make a good, clean run that I can be proud of?" I'll have you know, when I said Amen, I tightened my girth, and got back on Kord, and he never got all jacked up and spazzy again tonight, not even after we ran, and we ran a clean 17.3 which was 1 full second off the winning time, but it wasn't dead last. Kord walked down the alleyway like a complete champ.
So moral of the story, There is a God, because if there wasn't then I would be laying dead in the floor of a 32' stock trailer right now... and He really does care about me, and what I want because nothing short of the Lord himself could have made that horse do that big of a 180 that fast.

I have faith and I believe...wasn't always like that though... I also believe that God works in mysterious ways, when we ask the answer comes in so many different ways and I always ask him to give me the knowledge and wisdom so that I can find and see the answer and for me to understand it when it does happen. It happens on his time and that works for me. At the minimum, I thank him for my learning experience because sometimes he is preparing us for something bigger.
I am glad everything worked out for you...

Thanks, I post rarely on here but do come here every day. There are good people here, as are most boards. I'm where I am today because the Lord put me here and we all have choices and which we make directs us too where we are. If you have Faith and are really trying too help others in need you'll be Blessed and have a feeeling of peace. Tiny, Takes a real person too share their up and downs with most when most don't care. Tears are just rain for the soul and now is the growing season. Have a Blessed day

What an awesome testimony!! Your post is very uplifting - in a world where many people do not or will not acknowledge God even if they are believers - it is encouraging to see you speak out so boldly. You go girl---God is the only thing that matters in this world and what we do with Him. He created us to live at this particular time in history and not to live for our own pleasure but to make a difference in the lives of the people He places in our paths. If we will put Him first, everything else will fall into place. That does not mean that we will never have any troubles - but with Him to turn to - it makes life easier to deal with. BE BLESSSED!

Our God is an awesome God. Tiny I don't know you other than on here, but I'm proud of you for making your public testimony of Faith. As someone said above, most folks today don't acknowledge their faith publicly.

Meagan,...we're really glad that you made it out of the trailer in one piece,...it seems that you and I share a character trait that I wish we didn't......sometimes God has to hit us square between the eyes with a brick to get our attention and make us listen to him. I'd like to share something with you and everyone else here, it's a simple poem that I found a few years ago in the most unlikely place imaginable....but it literally changed my life when I read it. I know that the Lord had put it there for me, since no one else would have found it. I hope it helps you half as much as it did me.
Let Go and Let God
As children bring their broken toys, With tears for us to mend, I brought my broken dreams to God, Because He was my friend. But then, instead of leaving Him in peace to work alone, I hung around and tried to help, With ways that were my own. At last I snatched them back and cried, "How can You be so slow?" "My child," He said, "What could I do? You never did let go."

Yeah I know what you mean. We think God ain't there when we look in front of us and behind us when he is always right there beside us. Never leaves us nor forsakes us.

Yes tiny like someone said above he is always with you. There may not always be 2 sets of foot prints in the sand but don't think he has left when there's only 1 that's just him carrying you through your hard times.
