Friday evening about 5:30 I loaded Mauly and Tip to hunt on my visit with GET.LOW.CURS. I also loaded one of my other curs and another cd to drop off to rockhoggin69 along the way so he could hunt while I was on my adventure. He only has a few weeks left to hunt before he starts college and I wanna make sure he gets to hunt as much as he can before then. Anyway, dropped them off and hit the road toward the Texas panhandle. I enjoyed watching mule deer along the way; they are in velvet and seem to have a taste for the grass in the ditches along Hwy 70. Met up with GET.LOW and had some good ol' dog talk til' we started hunting around midnight. We put Mauly on the hood and started oozin' around, making our way to a dirt tank. Stopped down a little from the tank and cast the curs in toward the tank. A few minutes later Pike opens; Clyde and Mauly blow to him, and I run back to the truck to get the cd's. Cut ol' puma tailed Tip from the truck and started to the bay with Vaya. Got within 50 yards and Mike yells " It's a gooden! Cut em loose". Ran in and shanked him; scrappy boar with some teeth( guessed him around 175 lbs.).

Pike courting his latest crush!

GET.LOW.CURS with a fine pack of dogs( Clyde, Pike, and Vaya)

We were hot so we watered dogs and took a break to let everything rest.
Loaded up and put Mauly back on the hood; started oozin' our way toward the next spot when Mauly yips and leaves the hood like a rocket. She straight up nailed another boar and Pike and Clyde blew to her and started hammering away. Cut Tip from the truck and took off. Got there and shanked him. More TEETH! I love this place! All these dogs were a joy to watch work and pleasant to be around.

Pike's boar on the left( 2 3/4, 2 1/2) Maul's on the right( 2 3/8, 2 1/2) and the shank I made got a little use as well.

Me n Ug(Tip) posing with the teeth. I continue to immerse Tip in various situations on his own and continues to amaze me. I really enjoy hunting with him and I like to think he enjoys hunting with me as well. I can't thank Mike enough for this wonderful adventure and hopefully many more to come. Good company, solid dogs, and pretty country! Does it get any better?
Only if my Khloe was old enough to ride along!

Very nice pic with you and Tip, I appreciate you lettin me take ole bear dog and joker out on the trail this weekend.  It means alot to me that somebody can trust me enough with that task. Those are some kick @$$ teeth though. If these northern panhandle boars had those kind've teeth, they would be trouble..... Congrats!!

Thank You for the encouraging replies and I would like to thank ETHD and staff! Without you folks this hunt probably would have never happened; yall are awesome! Grin

GET.LOW.CURS- I'll be back for sure, THANX again. We only saw one rattle snake and a few prickly pears; I can't wait to get back at em! We will see you soon my friend. Smiley

rockhoggin69- sorry Bear took a grumpy on your hood and then got dumped on cattle but at least he's cattle broke! Have fun at college buddy. What to do with that loveable Bear dog Huh?
