My buddy Josh and his little girl picked me up around 10:30 Saturday night and we headed west across the line to meet up with rockhoggin69 and GET.LOW.CURS to do a little doggin. It was quite warm as usual so we ho-hummed around until well after midnight and then not more than a few minutes into the hunt Josh's Speck dog and my little Buster dog left the hood and Mike's dogs Pike and Clyde left the bed and we had a bay for a few but it broke and we got dumped on what I consider untrackable conditions. Back to oozin around and they left out; this time bayed solid. We got within 200 yards and POOF he was GONE! Spent some time gatherring up dogs and doing a little TLC to the dogs; this old boar is a smart rascal. We decided to try another area where I been catching a few and sure enough they were home. Dogs blowed out and bayed a sounder. Ending up catching this little boar and a rattlesnake; quite the haul for an 8 year old! Grin

Little girl has no fear and loves a dog!

Her guides!

Monsterman her cd!

We were all grinning even though all the dogs took a right fine beating; we were just happy she got a hog on her first hunt. I feel nights like these are ones to be remembered. Sadly Speck's retired, but for that little girl it was probably the best hog he ever struck!
Thanks and rockhoggin69- You better come home and hunt with ol' shankem brother!( We gonna get that boar on that creek this winter) Grin Wink

Probably one of my most enjoyable hunts..."okey-dogs" and "texas dogs from oklahoma"....I was expectin the little one to be crashed out before we left the first doggin spot, yet the little chatter box kept up with us all night..good times Smiley

Sounds like a good hunt. Some times the young ones will surprise you and be able to stick it out all night on a hunt. And from the pics she looks like one really happy kid.
