Damn hog bit my antenna off my garmin collar !!!!!!!  Were do I buy another one ?

Anyway a hell of a hunt today dang it boy.  Easttex Cory and I Go to a mans watermelon Field he has been having some kinda hex out there some very big old hogs out there .  I had only been there one time about two years ago and I didn't know the lay of the land .  Make a long story short drop the dogs at day light with in 15 Min's all hex broke loose.  Tried to get to them didn't make it the hog broke, there was  a whole slew of hogs there to tell you the truth and they went n the worst direction they could have went cause they went the way we could not go .  Anyway got off the garmin and we had pure hell boy trying to get them back on lucky I had my Wild Life and we follow it had to go back to the county road and then it was saying number 13 was close to hwy 36 bout that time phone rung and it was the Railroad workers calling saying they had my dog over on hwy 36 so we went and got her thank them and was back to tracking Ole Blue, Horn and Smokey now all off the garmin so we kept going finally horn came on 950 yards and running to wards hwy 36 to wards Milano .  Turn around head back to 36 got on 36 with the wheeler and went almost  mile and a half before we could come even with Horn now off the garmin again so I got up high on the RR tracks and it picked him up 850 yards Treed then Blue came on 851 Treed  but Blue was going in and out .  So put on our hiking boots and took off finally get to them and hear the barking turn the catch dog loose and they had a big Ole fat fat sow in the bottom of a dried out slew .  Went in and shanked the hog and everybody fell out ahhahahahahahha.  its now 10.30 am and the sun is beaming down .  Hotter than hell man had one dog Smokey that was just give plum out but he just recovered from a bad blow about two months ago anyway started back and  man o man I didn't think I was gonna make it Cory was doing fine today done lost 28 pound on his diet in less than a month and boy I could tell it cause he was passing me up today for a change hahahahahahahahaah.

I ain't bragging on my dogs but buddy they get the job done that is for sho !
These dogs have  nearly got more distance than I can handle  from were we started out to were they bayed had to be at least 4 miles are more .  Am wore!

Ole Sow was well well over 200lbs and had some stickers on her.

Jimbo you sure are blessed to have a dog of 8 years still hitting the woods for you,I bet you 2 have a lot of good memories together. i REALLY REALLLY REALLY like the build and long muzzles on your red brindle looking dogs. Are they some of the old family line of dogs you talk about breeding in your posts? If so it looks like you have got the recipe down pretty good.Oh and nice sow,BUMMER ABOUT THE ANTENNA!

Noticed three out of your five dogs have Redtick in them. Is that somthing that you did on purpose, breedin Redtick into your cur dogs. Just curious because we have full blooded Redticks that we hound hunt with here in Florida. Have never really thought bout mixing them into our cur dogs but it sure seems to be workin well for ya.

That old blu gyp and me have been threw one side of the wringer and out the other,  She is the best dog I own and everything off this yard nearly goes back to her are her half sister.  I have tried to make myself retire her but its just hard to do .  Like today going all that distance  .  Three months ago getting about a 6 to 10 inch rip from the inside of her stifle to down her tit line even nicked the body wall that holds the guts in and she was healed and screaming to go hunting again in a months time .  Just got finished breeding her a week and a half ago to one of my bulldogs and now today doing what she done.  She has trained and taught every dog on this yard to b what they are today and let me say yes all she done was just kick the genetics in over drive to help them out.  So I just cant say nuff about that old gyp the day she goes is a day I think I will buy me a bottle of Jack Black and cry thats a day that pure gold will be laid to rest as far as am concerned.

I tell you what man Jabo it has been my experience that a touch of hound be Red Tick are Plott cannot hurt any line of cur dogs as long as it is hand picked and all the I's dotted and the T's crossed and know what you are breeding to and what you need it to do .  The Red Tick in these old dogs of mine was there when I acquired these dogs and when I breed I try to keep it there.  I introduce the Plott into these dogs and a lot more Brindle Leopard cur into them as I had three liter mate Leopard cur gyps that n my mind were second to none.  The second dog from the left his mother was a old Leopard cur I owned named CJ .  The frist dog  on the left is off of old Blus half sister and a Plott male I owned.  I also got two other daughters of old Blu that I have to b very careful with because of the distance if no hogs are found close to med its on if you don't catch them.  Thats why they are not in the pic today had to leave them home thats a damn shame now just not nuff land were we went today I already got one trespassing ticket with them last year first one I have ever had  .  Then I got a granddaughter of old Blu out of her half sisters liter brother a dog name C.O. that is dead now she is a good gyp.  Anyway  that old family Red line of dogs is in a few but thats kinda the old mans private stock know what I mean .  Old Blu was just bred to a bulldog about a week and a half ago.  Lol  Thanks for all the kind  comments on the dogs a pretty good crew.  This line of dogs here I been breeding now for getting close to ten years just been adding my touch to them here and there.

Yall might give this some thought.  But I was told years ago by a old timer that the longer the noses the bridgeline is on a hunting dog the better their smell can be makes since to me .
I myself keep that in mind every time I breed for find dogs and also I like dogs with blow holes  nostrils .

Something to chew on there know what I mean.

Good hog man,...and I understand what you mean about the heat, it's so bad here I can't get myself to take my dogs out. That's a heck of a run y'all had there my friend,....dang good job your dogs did seems to me. I know that you're proud of them too. Call Garmin about your antenna, if your unit is still under warranty they should replace it. I had one of mine get to loosing signal with the dog on the lead right by me,.....they sent me a new one in a few days......no problem. Good luck with them watermelon busters.

What's the bridgeline?  Not trying to be a wise guy or troubleshoot or anything, I just don't know.

Good hunt. I had a boar hog bite mine in half.  I got the tuff skin antenna from Conkeys hound supply. It's a solid cable not that little wire like garmin uses. Conkeys (386) 972- 4937
