I have kennels with concrete has the floor. I see alot of elevated floors. I'm thinking bout building more kennels. I just want peoples pros and cons of both.

I prefer concrete pens over wood pens any day. Thats just me. Know plenty of guys that have the elevated wood floor pens and they are just fine and probably cheaper to build. I just believe that its easier to keep concrete pens cleaner and more sanitary than the wood floors. Jmo

I've had both and prefer the elevated kennels over concrete. The elevated kennels are cleaner and I don't have any ticks or fleas. Im in the process of building new elevated kennels over my slab.

I have the best of both worlds, mine are concrete but my slab is 20'' off the ground.  I built them like that because I kept finding rattlesnakes and getting a few dogs bit.  Built the base with dirt made 8'' deep beams around the perimeter and have a 4'' slab.  My dogs are also flea and tick free.

If you have lots of snakes u might want to go elevated and have a way to move them.  I went with the concrete and would not have nothing else where I'm at.

i dont know but people say you can put lime around the pens and the snakes will stay clear, dont put it in the pen it will burn the dogs feet, it would be worth a try to keep the snakes away
