Your posting a controversial topic on a public ,Texas hunting forum. Majority of Texans and most hunters are Republicans who supported Bush and oppose socialism. Most also oppose liberals, who as a majority do not support hunting, the reason the majority of us are here.
My point being...if you are going to post a controversial topic, put down one of the best presidents of our lifetime and stand in the minority opinion...."no" you are going to get some heat.
Nothing personal here, just like you I am offering my opinion.

LIKE!!! And in this case there is no grey area, you either like/support him or you dislike/dont support him. Just to keep the topic current, look at how this entire debt seiling issue was handled. Basically they (the pres and senate) used scare tactics of cutting military pay and ss and the reduction of the AAA rating to get the american people scared and basically believe that we HAD to raise the debt ceiling. Then after they raised it the AAA rating still took a crap and the market dropped 1200 pts. The House should have told them to shove it and let it ride out. You cant be spending $10 you dont have and then reduce that to $7 you dont have and call that a spending cut, you are still going backwards. It is the same smoke and mirrors bs that got him where he is today and we all just keep taking it. Meanwhile you have a few industries that without a doubt have to be in bed with the government getting richer by the second. How is it that in 2007 a barrel of oil was around the low $80 mark and we paid 2.75 for gas, now with the same price per barrel we are paying 3.45-3.50??? C'mon man, nobody can make that money in this country and get away with it. You can't tell me someone isn't getting a peice of that enormous pie. My theory of government is simple. If you want to give tax breaks, give them to businesses that are willing to stay in the US and hire US citizens to work for them and create jobs! CUT OUT PROGRAMS, we don't need them! The governement does not need to support me or you or anyone else! If you are not spending money on said programs you will suddenly realize that your bills are easier to pay and you don't keep staring at the deficit wonderin why it is climbing. Run the country like a business not a charity. I don't know if it was really profitable or not but I think Roosevelts parks program and I think well at least we have something to show for that money. Same should be said for anything that looks like a program today, it needs to be earned and assets gained as a country for the money laid out, not just a hand out.

I don't care what anybody says we had the right guy in the right place at the right time on 9/11. We needed somebody with a set of stones and I'm glad he was there. I supported then and I support now the invasion of Iraq, it needed to be done. No Saddam was not sitting on an A-bomb but he was sitting on a lot of nasty stuff that he would have sold cheap, and to anybody. Remember in the 80's when he gassed the Kurds in the Northern part of his own country? Did you think he used everything he had? Plus the sanctions we had set in were starting to hurt. He was going to get money from somewhere. Iraq at the time was like a Home Depot for stuff that goes boom, that's why we've been dealing with IED's for so long. Take if from somebody that's been on the wrong end of one, you don't want that crap making it to the states.
Obama I'm not happy with at all. Since he's been in office they've threatened to change my retirement twice and as far as I know he didn't say a peep about it, at least not that issue specifically. I haven't been able to find it if he has. Either Bush or even Clinton would have been screaming about it.

The Dixie Chicks little tirade was a big deal because she decided to run her mouth in another country, putting down our country when the feelings of patriotism in the US were probably higher than they had been since the seventies. Nobody wanted to hear it from that airheaded gyp at the point.
Like has been said before, we need to quit giving away money for nothing. The CCC might have been a government program but we're still benifitting from what they did. I wouldn't mind seeing something like that come back. If they are going to get community money then they need to do something that benefits the community to earn it. Maybe they'll regain pride enough to make something of themselves.

I am 67 years old and Obama is by far the worst president we have ever had. He is completely incompetant and got where he is by playing the race card. Liberals worship at the altar of equality. They are more afraid of being called a racist than a possum is an ax handle.
Obama has spent more money than all of the other presidents combined and look where we are.
What do you expect because it is all in the breeding. His daddy was a drunk dope head and his momma was a slut.

thanks for calling it like it is....We went from a surplus to a deficet in those 8 years but Obamba is fueling the runaway train...even if the right things are done and the fuel is shut off to that runaway train it will be a while before it stops. an object in motion tends to stay in motion. The larger and heavier the object the more energy it takes to get it moving and it will take a long while to stop it and reverse it. A lot of our problems are global related but also USA related. Has to do with greed and...WE NEED TO CLEAN HOUSE DURING ELECTION time. A while back I read where quite a few representives/congressmen and women that are leading our country have filed for bankruptcy and some more than once. How can we allow someone to run our country if they can not even run their own personal business? My CPA told me last year that he felt like obama surrounded himself with folks that had certain agendas but very few if any with business experience. I don't know the fixes but I do know things are not getting any better.

Bigdog not to be rude but your total lack of understanding of our political system is the biggest problem in this country. It is not your fault it is what politicians have done so they can do what they want. I would simply ask what is the president actually responsible for? Go read the constitution and that is how it should be. Go get a Political Science degree and then you will know how it does not function that way now.
I do not compare any president to another because it is not right. Judge each on their own merit or lack of. Obama has failed at his job. Buy me a drink and we can sit down and discuss it. But I can respect everyone's opinion. I just wish our system could go back to the constitution.
