Zach, that's exactly the type of person I like giving a dog to... problem is, it's hard to find a young person that has focus these days... man I sound old Reuben, truth be told, I'd like to accelarate my breeding program big time... I LOVE pickin' dogs out to reproduce.... I just need to win the lottery to afford to do it .... I used to have a pretty good income and then I retired in 06 and about gave up my program in 07. I am breeding a few good dogs but not anything like before. Only thing different is won't have as many trial and errors... but too expensive to do it on our own. the best thing is to have a few friends with the same goals and then you have something to really work with.

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

I am thankful for the dogs I have been sold; yet I have been made fun of for spending that much on a dog. I was recently presented with an opportunity to free up space and my Bear dog went to a guy I feel takes care of his dogs. I wish them the best; I still have to many. I must have my own cross. I must let go of the ones that pass; spaying/neutering helps with the worry of traders. If at all possible you could hand deliver, phone numbers(work, home, etc.),pictures of dog's kennel situation, name of their vet, and all on file. I always liked Clint Eastwood's speech at the end of the Unforgiven; that couldn't hurt either. Anyway good luck I know I'll take all I can get. I started saving money for more kennels, so I'm sure I'll have 15 - 20 again next year and still giving dogs away left and right. I don't know why I can't just hunt, but no; I gotta have a project or I get bored around the house.

Noah, I feel for you man. If I had access to hogs like you do, I might be in the same spot you are. I must confess that I don't have any advice for you my friend....I don't know just what I'd do if I were in your shoes. I can tell you this though,.....if dogs weren't so danged likeable.....it would be muuuuuch easier to part with them.

It's easy to judge the character of a man,....by how he treats those that can do nothing for him.

Noah, ive had a few dogs give to me two in fact were finished dogs given to me by friends when i was in a bad place with dogs. the only problem with my friends giving them to me was when we hunted together they wanted to tell me how MY dogs should work. And more than once came close to goin to blows. If it were me, and i was getting rid of an animal for some reason or another, id give it to someone i wouldnt see to much that way the hey your not doin it right thing wont come up.
