Mike, Matt, and I turned out just before dark at a new place in Waller County. We weren't in the woods for five minutes when cheyenne and birdie started popping their heads up, and like a shot they were both gone. blue was backtrailing at first, then he worked it out and followed right behind them. a few minutes later blue bayed, then they were all bayed. it was some pretty thick stuff, but we worked our way along a creek bank. Mike and Matt let the catch dogs go and it was on! the way it was fighting it sounded like a lot bigger hog at first. as we worked our way to the fight, the boar managed to drag the fight to the creek right in front of us, then the dogs shut it down. Matt got there first and grabbed the hog. it went 130# on the scales. Overall a nice quick hunt! Wink

No, probably not. I only got a couple of minutes of video, and the light was too low up under the canopy of trees right there. my camera is just no good in low light. Sad

It was a fun, quick hunt.  I jokingly grabbed the only dog I had that wasn't cut up which was my bulldog and I'll be a SOB if that little no tooth hog didn't bust her bottom jaw open a little.  Nothing to get excited over, just crazy how three hogs in two and a half weeks have cut my three main dogs.  I would like to brag on Mikes Birdie dog a little too, she is coming along really well and seems like she is imroving every time I hunt with her, always enjoy watching a young dog turn on.
Sam it is good to see you on here, hope to see you soon....in the woods Wink

Hey Sam, glad you made your way here finally. Now if you could ever get a break from those "slave hours" you work, maybe we could get back to hunting! Wink

Mike,
Looks like you taught ol Matt Well on the tie job.

Question:
What is up with the so called "knives" you are giving away in the photo contest,  They look more like the SWORDS that only guys that normally TIE hogs carry?  I would get tired if I had to wheel those monster movie blades around in the woods.   I thought only Tred Barta used those kind of knives....LOL

I wanted to tie the boar we caught today and the guy I was with stuck it as soon as I threw it(oh well) I will have to save that for my next hunt with you.

I watched your video and I saw you stick a hog in there.  I saw your method and I think you should stay with the tying.   If you want you can teach me to tie some but I am gonna have to show you how to stick one so you dont embarress me on EastTexasHogDoggers II
Longshot

Disclaimer:
I had a lot of fun with this post and for anyone that doens't know I am giving Mike a hard time just like he does for me and it is all in fun, I like him as a person and hunter

Sweet, nice hog and pics. We caught a sow just like that last night. About the same size we let the dogs go and before we got the ranger unloaded they were bayed and we let the catch dog loose heard her squeal I went and threw her and we left and came back home. Have to love those quick sucessful hunts.

Longshot... it takes a big knife to get into these East Texas monsters. Shocked

Now when I get out you're way i'll bring my little 4" skinner and some kite string if we need to tie one! Wink

Aaron, Birdie winded and went in with the other two and opened up right behind Blue. I'm real impressed with her, she's only been in the woods half a dozen times.
