I am about as southern as one cold get , Ask a lady out to dinner  is after 6  you want to come over for supper still after 6
 aww hell I gotta go its lunch time is around noon,
I have to pack my lunch
what time is lunch break never heard  whens dinner break meaning aroud noon
dinner at lunch time to me is  kinda yankee sounding

Dexter you are one smart man. It all makes sense and I can't call any body names. Lunch can be used for the noon meal. Dinner is the largest meal. Which would be why it is Sunday dinner but on a work day when you have a lunch on the go you come home and have dinner in place of supper which would be the last meal. That is why the Lord's Supper was in the evening and it was just bread and wine.

Daggum I feel smarter already. Thanks for learning me that.

at home in the evening is supper, if your going out its diner, round noon is lunch, but my Georgia raised grandma still calls it diner at noon and supper at night.
