I thought this was a Yeller dog rally point. To root out all non believers and skeptics.  laugh

Ok I have had my fun now to getting serious with this thread.

I will have to agree with the founding post in some manner. I do truthfully believe that most of the Yeller strains are being watered down considerably. Same as a decade or so ago. Hog hunting and bay penning blew up and got huge. Everyone in my little town that had a tree or fence post had a yellerdog tied to it. Everyone started breeding anything they could and completly diluted the old lines that alot had came from. When the pens started catching hell all the tourists sold out and flooded the market with crossed up yellowish junk. Unfourtunatly that still holds true today as the majority of the dogs being handled. Very few individuals weathered the storm sort of speaking by keeping their lines or others long term lines straight.
Marketing I believe has also hurt the line holders reputation and in some ways given a bad taste in alot of folks mouths. But I completely respect their god given right to do so. They only get that big money because SOMEBODY pays it. Sorry folks but I can't be mad at the breeder for that its just plain ole good business.

So in hind sight I regretfully agree that the jest of all popular breeds not just my preferred Yeller dogs have suffured from dilution of the breed and improper breeding decisions along with the true hard hearted if you will art of CULLING what don't work.

Airduster,

Sorry if my comment offended you. It was not directed ar you or anyone else in particular for that matter. There are folks like you who have hunting foundation bred dogs, and i'm sure are producing fine dogs that are worth every penny. But for every one of you there's five scam artist just try to make a buck. These are the ppl the jokes were intended for.

Great looking pup

Anytime there is an opportunity to capitalize on a dog fad someone is going to do it. It's not gonna change.. And some people don't even realize what they're doing. I know a lady that breeds ladner dogs and ben dogs and sells whole litters.. She truly believes all the BS she was told about the ones she breeds and she thinks all the ones in the litters she sells are gonna be just like that because they are off a certain dog or line of dogs or papered right. She is a very nice lady and takes great care of her dogs but she has no clue what kind of culling and hunting it takes to maintain the traits in those dogs that she thinks they will all have..
And I'm in no way singleing out BMCs because there are just as many sorry dogs of every other breed, especially cats..
A few times just out of curiosity I have called different people with big write up ads for all different types of papered up cur dogs  and asked them what percentages of the pups they raise usually make dogs and 99% of them will say something like Oh my dogs are very healthy , I hardly ever have any of my pups die.
It's all about who you deal with when getting a dog and a lot less about any specific breed..

Huge difference biggun. Shocked.  YELLA POWER!

But seriously Ill agree the whole cat vs ybm is basically trying to argue with a dead stump. Unless you just like to bicker or in my case pick...you go with what pleases you and that my friend is the best.

You are right Jon they are both curs and about the only difference in them are the opinions of their owners..
And I was just joking around about it, I would hope a fight would be a little more exciting..  Smiley

Spotted, yella, brown or purple.. All dogs r exploited for money and that's just how it is... What I find more disturbing is that many many hunters breed junk and don't know it... When there is a hog under every rock it don't take much
