Last night Dogonit (Eric) and I went hunting with sbrooks (Shylar) down here in Kingsville. We loaded the dogs up about 10Pm and drove a whoppin 10 minutes to the first field. We didn't hit nothing off the hood on the first spot, so took off to the "good stuff." We threw the dogs up on the dog box and took off by some cut grain, and then struck a group off the box. We picked up about a 150 or so lb sow, and Dogonit caught a lil 30 or so lb shoat with his hands that was trying to hide. We went to another field and the dogs struck again on a good ol boar this time. We go to the bay to a caught pig that wasn't making any noise but grunting and trying to break the catch dogs off. Eric legged him and everyone got to stick this guy, he just wouldn't die! Well we were a long way from the truck so we all looked around and said who has a camera? Shylar said he did, but we didn't pick up pictures on him for some reason .... When we got back to the truck we were all kicking our selves in the butt, and giving Shylar a hard time!!! The boar would of been about 225-250 or so. It was a good hunt we all had a good time hunting with Shylar and his son. Thanks again bud! SOW Little guy with the sow! Sorry no pics of the ol boar!!!

Definetly a good time. Glad to meet Eric and for us to finally get out there and leg a few. Joe called me a few times asking about the dogs trying to get a blow by blow of how the dogs performed. We need to get Tex started winding from the hood now and we'll be good.

Eric i was thinking about the hunt and talking about it with my wife and we got a food laugh about having the supper 44 oz. syrofoam cup of water at the bay. After recalling how and where we ended up baying catching and sticking that boar. The more i think about it, it was a classic moment and will never forget it as long as i live and will probably tell the story several times. so for everyone else here it is.
Eric and I were riding the tailgate watching the dogs winding off the box and cab when they take off, and Jared kills the truck. We hear the dogs baying so we cut dogs loose from the box and no sooner than we do the hog breaks and bays again at a fenceline. breaks one more time and then ends up in alot of brush with hog and deer trails through it, at one time we had to crawl through some trails. As we get there the boar is dragging the dogs further into the brush and we finally get a chance to leg it and Eric goes in for it. Soon as he grabs it he hollers out for us to stick it which i oblige. So here's where i somewhat notice the cup of water but still doesn't really register. Hog was pretty big so we decided with the distance, terrain and having to look after one of the dogs we decided to leave it. After we get back to the truck and look at the dogs and water them, there is eric with the big'ol styrofoam cup. After he takes a big pull of water he says in that voice when you drink a big gulp of water " I don't usually take a cup to the bay with me." Thinking about it after the fact, we had to go through a barb wire fence where i kicked jared in the face, ran across a small pasture that was rooted tall to hel, haad to find whre the dogs and hog went under a high fence, crawled under that into the brush, crawiling through some of that and then doing it all in reverse again to get back to the truck. Just something that i will always remember.
I don't usually bring a cup to the bay with me
