LSWDA is putting togethor a relief shipment for fire fighters, volunteers, pets, and livestock with plans to send it to the Bastrop area either tomorrow or the next day.

Currently on the list we have:
Several pallets of water and gatorade.
Water flavor packets.
Pallets of dog and cat food.
Food and water bowls.
Pallets of horse, cattle, goat, and sheep feed.

Sure can use some feedback from ethd members that have dealt with this before. What are we missing that is needed in times like these?

pillows /blankets

I know what I can find that the shelters an stuff are asking for non perishable items and monetary. I can't help with monetary but Have put together 5 big bags of house stuff, pillow cases, blankets, clothing, shoes, back packs, kids stuff to take down that way, and will be looking for a small local shelter to donate to make sure it gets to smaller rural communities hit hard. I want to coordinate this with LSWDA drive too

Krystal,

If you can find some of the rural shelters and get me their address, I plan to haul a 32' trailer or two with the supplies.

Timmy,
Thanks, I'll put those on the list. I should have thought about the saline. Spent Sunday night and Monday in the smoke south of bastrop, had my eyes burning awful bad in that short time.

Someone messages me and mentioned work gloves, trash bags, oats, alfalfa in addition to the items listed above.

Volunteers needed tomorrow from 6am-10pm - 210 Main, Smithville Tx - Distribution Center. We need VOLUNTEERS to help sorting/organizing donated items.

If you want to donate items, please drop them off at Sharp Propane at 108 Main Street. Smithville, Tx

At this time, the Distribution Center is most in need of non-perishable food (for pets as well as for people) and water, toiletries, pillows, sheets and towels. They also need clothing racks and hangers to hold the many items of clothing that need to be hung. If you drive by, you'll see a large poster in the window saying what they need the most at any other time. You can also check the facebook page for Volunteer Smithville for livelier updates.

Please also consider donating non-perishables, toiletries, and cleaning supplies for the Recreation Center at 106 Royston. The Rec Center is home now to many of our neighbors, and they most need the things they can use immediately. They also need to be able to keep the premises clean with all the people and animals living under their care, so please don't forget that important item. The loading dock at the back of the building is the best location to drop these items off at this time, but please watch for information because they may get full of stuff too quickly.

If you would like to volunteer in Smithville, please stop at the Distribution Center at 208 Main Street. They are coordinating hours and needs. You may also drop off a cash donation there so that they can purchase any immediately needed supplies.

If you wish to send a donation to help the families who have been devastated by this tragic fire, please send checks to:
Smithville Ministerial Alliance
PO Box 743
Smithville, TX 78957

Rosanky Baptist Church will also be accepting helpful items for fire victims. You can drop them off at the church--2160 FM 535, Rosanky, Tx or call us--512-3603968 and we will try to have someone pick them up. Thanks. Pastor John

I am in the DFW area if someone wants to drop off some items.  I have been in contact with Chris and hopefully will be coordinating a drop off location with him.   We have all seen the lists of stuff needed so I not paste that section.

As we’ve all seen on the news recently, the wildfires across East & Central Texas are of great concern.  Some of us here at Abstract have close friends and/or relatives that either live in these areas that are directly affected or are firefighters fighting to stop these fires from spreading.  We have done some research and put together a list of items that the citizens / firefighters need at this time.  If you are interested and willing to help by donating any of the items listed below, we will be gathering as much as possible over the next couple days and plan to deliver everything this Thursday afternoon.  We ask that you deliver the items to our offices – I have included our address below.  Or, if you do not think you will be able to make it to our office but want to help, let us know and we will do our best to arrange for the items to be picked up.  Please feel free to pass this email on to your contacts.

Our Address
2532 Highlander Way, Suite 100
Carrollton, TX  75006

Talked with Derick, who is helping in the south end of Bastrop area at this moment. High end homes he said leveled the amount of destruction is unbelievable. He is working on livestock people are gathering and checking livestock. These animals are in need of WATER and feed but there is no electricity to get well water to the cattle that survived.

So yes Animals feed and hay and water for all kinds of animals are needed also.

Gotta love the friends of LSWDA

I called on a few of the companies that have helped LSWDA in the past with the Wounded Warrior Hunts... No hesitation, they are just opening their checkbooks.

Mejia Industrial Supply - $500.00 donation for livestock feed.
Texas Shapes - $400.00 donation for livestock feed.
Rolling Oaks Ranch just said come pick up a check, not sure of the amount yet.
J-K Enterprises - $1900.00 for work gloves, trash bags, and misc supplies.
Walmart has told me to come by this afternoon and pick up Dog food, cat food, and cat litter.

If anyone wants to contribute, but does not know how, I have set up an account with a local feed store, Gulf Tex Feed in Pasadena, 281-998-7177, ask for Jeremy, he can take donations over the phone. Then I will go this evening and load the feed and deliver it to the people that need it in the Bastrop area.

That's awesome.

Hope you have plenty of room in your trailer, because Walmart in Waco just contacted me and said they have several pallets of paper goods to send with you when you stop there.

I just had another cash donation from Mass Transfer in La Porte to buy livestock feed.

TimmsHogDogs. I am looking into it as I am hearing dfferent reports from different locations and things change in a matter of hours. I was told that ther was an empty wharehouse complex near Bastrop taking all donations and is full, and they have stopped taking in donations. Others I have heard were trying to organize and figure what they have because so many people have dropped off so much.
So I am thinking that that with so many Fires there will be so many displaced and so many needing everyting in their lives replaced, that they will be needing more, but I am not sure at this moment which place is in most need of clothing donations. When I find out I will send you a message.

There are still so many Fires that were not reported by the news and are not on any maps.

Needville Tx was also burning yesterday I did not find out until last night.
North of Columbus is contained
Lagrange Tx is OUT
Grimes County/Montgomery County
Magnolia
Gonzales is OUT
Smithville
Bastrop are all seperate fires and all were considered large fires.

Then the other parts of Texas, I have not even been able to look without breaking my heart to see so many loose so much, and our Texas so damaged
