I have been feeding pedigree at my house but I am planning on moving and the closest feed store doesn't carry it. However, I they do carry diamond and I have heard good things about it but also stories of bloody stools and hairless. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated

I feed diamond high engery and haven't had a problem yet back in the day it use to leave sores on the dogs but now a days they slick coated I find the stool thing ummm I'd say it was hook worms cause never had any problem with that either all stool rolls out the kennels like rocks  I also find that the dogs build is much better than other foods I fed before oh and all dogs are like set bear traps waiting to go hunt Hope this help you out a lil

Sportsmens pride premium. Absolutely no complaints. Little goes a long ways, good coat build and stool. Dogs are always wired ready to roll

I have fed Diamond for 3 years. The three I would feed in order of Quality feed and ingredients would be as follows.

         1. Diamond Naturals Chicken and Rice [No Corn, No wheat, No soy ]   $ 28.99 for 40 lbs. Fresh Chicken is the main Ingredient.

         2. Diamond Premium Adult                  $ 25.99   for 40 lbs.       26 protein  18 fat. Will put weight on a crack addict.

         3.  Diamond High Energy                    $ 24.99    for  50 lbs.     Best Value   a lot of corn. Dogs chit to yellow.

The better the ingredients the less you have to feed.  I have fed all 3 feeds above and dogs looked good. I now feed the Diamond Chicken and Rice because stools are firm and very little a day to Clean up. There coats are healthy and shiny. And I don't have to feed near as much so it's actually the better value.

I appreciate all the input. I like the sound of feeding less with better results. I have never heard of sportmix but I will look into it. I am looking to put some weight on some of my "crackheads" before it gets cold. My last questions how much is less? Right now each dog is getting about 2coffee cans a day

I feed diamond chicken and rice. 2.5-3.25 cups for my 40-60lb dogs. About 3/4 of a 32oz cup. The back of the bag will tell you how much as per weight and age. I started with that and monitored their weight. The label is right for my dogs

adamp, If you wanting to put some weight on them before it gets cold feed them the Diamond Premium Adult. It is formulated for all life
stages. Very very close to the same thing as diamond Puppy Feed but a whole lot cheaper. You can feed them the Premium Adult to
put weight on them quickly but if you want to keep them on it you better make sure they are active to burn off that energy. As for as
how much to feed , I feed 2 1/2 cups once a day . That's measured with a measuring cup. That is WAY LESS than 2 coffee cans a day.

Purina One chicken and rice....$19 a 20 lb. bag at Walmart. I know I know....that sounds expensive....BUT....you will feed less than half what you would feed with Diamond, therefore....you  actually SAVE money and you dogs won't crap the pen full. In my opinion....if your dogs aren't hunting or working hard.....why feed the high protein food, burns their kidneys up processing it. Different story if they're hunting hard 3 time a week. Try it......I promise that you'll see what I mean.

Another for purina one. Tried Diamond puppy for a month and there were no turds to be found only paddies. Went back to purina one and got turds again. I may try high energy later but there is really no need in it due to purina always producing below average firm turds.
