Brought out Duke and the new dog Gator in the rain with mud on the ground was in the woods maybe 5 minutes and struck a boar about 180lbs. dog bayed in an open field. I got to say that yella dog had the hog doing circles, finally caught up to the bay about 1000 yds old. Got to watch Gator and Duke work in an open field and see what they could do. Duke did his usual wide circles about 5 ft out and would dart in for a knip when needed. Gator was all over that hog in it's face and biting some ass to spin him, he jumped over the hog planted his feet and stopped the hog in his tracks twice. This dog is going nowhere, this is the first hog the new dog has been on for me and he did exactly what I bought him for, stop a runner. I can only work this young dog and expect more out of him, he struck sign about the same time Duke did as well. There might be something to this Weatherford Ben, Wright, & Benson bloodlines. He really impressed me...

Sounds impressive. Glad you got you something that will shut a runner down. Those kind of dogs are far and few between. Congrats. .....but next time, get us some video!  Cheesy

I would really like to have video of it myself, I was out cattle breaking the new dog after an event just a couple nights before we won't discuss. Lets just say Gator would be one hell of a cowdog. This fall and winter I'll get video on a day hunt and post it.
