I just went through the same thing. She still acted normal, but the pups were really bringing her down. For three weeks, I fed 6 cups of the Diamond puppy (I suppose most puppy foods would do the same). Anyway, 6 cups of puppy food, add two raw eggs, one can of soft puppy food and fill the bowl 1/4 full of hot water and mix it all together. I keep mixing the contents until the hard puppy food started to absorb the egg and water and get semi soft. She would inhale those 6 cups and then I would give her free choice hard puppy food. At three weeks I had to really cut it down because she had gone from bones to obese. I worked for a Vet for years and we used this formula quite often. You can also use powdered calf milk replacer to the mix and speed things up even more. Good luck to you.

high quality food with about a tablespoon of bacon grease or left over cooking oil over her food...feed her all she wants to eat twice a day as a minimum. Always have fresh water available for her. The more she eats and drinks the more milk production for the pups. This will give you bigger and healthier pups...

KLC,

I have had several dogs that are naturally slender and one of those ate at least 30 to 50% more food than the rest of the pack just to maintain a decent look. That particular dog did not have an undercoat so he had to eat more than normal in the winter to maintain an acceptable weight...

x2...also I do it the lazy mans way... Wink I soak some puppy food with just enough water for it to soften up for the next day...I use enough food for 2 meals.

The next morning I take enough for the first meal and I add a small amount of milk to make it mushy and a little soupy and warm it up in the microwave.

Repeat in the evening but then I make a new batch for the next day and let the soaking over night work for me...Can use calf milk replacer but the the pups don't like it as much as a little cow milk in the food. Besides, a high quality puppy food has all the nutrition needed for a puppy...

I use a product from K9 Power, it's their Puppy Gold Formula. It is expensive but I always have to pull weight off of my females after they wean their pups. I start using it along with a high quality puppy food thirty days after they have been bred. I have been using it for several years and have always had great results.

This stuff has worked real well for me to put weight on dogs nursing pups. It is a little expensive but it goes a long ways.
Also you should worm her real good and worm the pups every 2 weeks.
