This can be cross posted and most came off Face Book but makes all Hog Hunters look back and pictures of dogs on hogs can land you in court.  Think

If you'll look at the link to the Examiner's story near the bottom there is a case already in the courts about pictures of catch dogs catching a hog.  Hunters need to think, hog hunters are being classified as inbred low lifes.

FAAS Facebook administrators sent out an alert to try and warn pit bull rescues and shelters of this latest atrocity. It seems a group of hog hunters is seeking to ‘adopt’ pit bulls and bully breed dogs to use in this sport which is no better than dog fighting, to participate in watching animals tear each other apart. These ‘sportsmen’ are simply dog fighters who’ve found a way to torture animals for their personal enjoyment.

The Friends of Arlington Animal Services Facebook page was actually contacted to help this group acquire pit bulls to use in hog hunting. Both their Facebook and Craigslist pages have been removed, but the threat of harming innocent animals is rampant.

The Friends of Arlington Animal Services are trying to warn other shelters and rescue groups to beware of these individuals. This particular group of hog fighters are suspected to be friends and seem to be inter-related.

Hog hunters use a variety of different breeds including hounds, labs, and even irish wolfhounds. It's a legitimate job for many canines. I don't know this group so I don't know if they're legit but it can be a fine home for a dog that has an extremely high drive and need for a "job". Again, not condoning this group as I know nothing about them, just talking about the job/sport in general. Some of the happiest, healthiest, and well cared for dogs I've ever met have been hog hunting dogs of a variety of breeds. It typically wouldn't be a good fit for a rescue dog in my opinion as all rescues should be fixed and that typically will diminish a lot of the drive aspect needed in a hunting dog. Again, not saying it's a good idea, I just don't think discriminating against a legit hunting sport is right. Then we would be no better than the people that discriminate against Pit Bulls in general.

Agreed! This is a historical use of the pit bull terrier and while I don't personally hunt myself, I think it is a great use of the dog. Especially considering the rampant problem with wild hogs all over the US.

I love how people are all against it, but wait til there are wild hogs running through their neighborhoods and wait til one attacks a child. Especially in some places like Texas. One of my friends, who lives in a suburban area had a pack of wild pigs that came through his property and did about 10k in damage and charged at his wife. I suspect peoples perspectives will change once they realize how much of an issue this is truly becoming. Much more than dogs is needed to combat this however.

I have said it before and will say it again...we need to be extremely careful in what we say or how we say things...The anti's can't wait to take what we say and worse... what pictures we post up...

I could go on and on but this is a no brainer...

These are not even Antis these are Pit Bull Rescues groups they are the in betweens , most rescues understand the reason they have so many dogs are high drive dogs that dont do well in pet homes in apartments that were impulse purchased pets, then surrendered to shelters and pulled by the pure breed rescues that are passionate about their breed of choice, most understand working dogs and their origins.

Thats whats so bad you dont even know who the enemy is anymore, who is PRO and CON

They do not realize that us "Hogdoggers" not "hog fighters" get to our dogs and get them off of the hogs as fast as possible. We do not like the animal to be tourtured at all, or at least me and my crew do not. Most of the time we want to keep the hog in the best shape possible to take it to sell. If we do not sell it, and we have enough meat already then we will donate the meat to someone that needs it more than we do.

And they do not care!!!! If they did, maybe some of the folks funneling millions of dollars each year to line their PETA pockets would find something better to spend their money on.

"They" the "anitis are anti American.  This is a much larger problem than most people realize.  A major battle in this war can be won if Ron Paul was elected president.

These PETAesque zombies, are just that, brain dead clones marching to the beat of an anti American band.

Rick Perry did not veto HR 1415 or whatever, the anti dog breeders proposition was called.  The main point behind all of this, that many of the brain dead PETAesque zombies do not even realize, is that they are trying to make it impossible for people to be able to survive, or to make a living, outside of the system.

They want to make a real American extinct, and to destroy America.  Unfortunately, a lot of people have not awakened to this reality.  This is not a new phenomenon.

I agree that most of or a lot of the rescues are anti American and have been indoctrinated by a foul brainwashing.  For certain the most vocal rescues are the soulless PETA like degenerates.  They do not care, as stated above, about the truth, because they are programmed to disregard any truth or reason.

An ongoing effort to educate and inform, those who still have the desire and ability to think independently, about the realities of hog hunting, and independent traditional American ways of life.  The facts about the detrimental effects that wild pig populations have on the native ecosystems needs to be reiterated.  The fact that hog hunting with dogs is the most effective and humane method to keep their numbers in check is another point to make when discussing the issues with people that may still have use of their brain.  For instance, often times, no guns or knives are used on the pig, the dog simply holds the pig so that it can be restrained and is then removed alive from the area that it has become a nuisance.

I know from first hand experience that most of these people are unreachable and entirely unreasonable because they have bought into the brainwashing program that's ultimate purpose is to make everyone dependent on the system, but I believe that an effort still needs to made to simply inform people of the facts so that popular opinion can be brought back in to accord with truth and reason.

The history and tradition is another thing that is at stake.  I know I'm preaching to the choir, but this whole situation has gotten entirely out of hand.  There are some really good informative websites that I've come across through this website.

my opinion of the story is you can try to educate the uneducated but you also have to look at fact anti's and peta obviously still haven't realized meat comes from animals not the H E B or WALMART the bad thing is when they realize that the animals in the store shelves didn't die of old age they'll be making laws that we cant eat nothing but grass and leaves and wood and maybe some dirt pie

haha i love it i just read an artical today about the grey wolf population back up to high numbers and killing sheep and live stock but nothing can be done.

The sad thing is a few people make everyone look bad there was a guy on 1 of these sites that i went hunting with that was like this he would let his dogs bay and catch and tear the pigs up so he could take pictures needless to say only hunted with him 1 time im not going to name any names but im sure there is a few people on here that know of him he has a real bad rep.

Mark,
I have been posting on the TDHA board about what is going on in Austin on this new bredder bill that Perry signed, but I can't make people read it.
Things will be down and dirty in 2013 in Austin and for the last 8 years I have seem no one there to stand with me except the Buldog assoc., ROPA, and TOPs which I'm a charter member with TDHA.

Dog Owners will have to stand together or the dog hunting and Breeders will be a thing of the pass.  I'm getting old and some one is going to have to help.

What have each of you done personally for protecting and Preserving Dog Hunting?

Doug ,It saddens me to have to watch what is going on , the dog breeders had no vote on the issues because they say there are no one who is a licensed breeder. I'm a outsider but I have a ton of friends in texas . The problem i see is everyone does there own thing and waits for things to take care of itself are from someone else to address the issues , when it comes to pass we will all be standing around and asking what happened . They tried us in Louisiana a couple of years ago, the only organization that caved in to the anti's was the NALC, they changed a lot of rules concerning the hog bayings . But the issue in Texas is 10 times worse they are looking to outlaw the sport of hunting with dogs by hitting the very existance of the hunting dog, the breeder. I ask anyone who reads this to comment and repost .This is for real .
