For one you cant have had parvo for a while with out noticing the signs..vomiting diareha-nasty smelling, weight loss, dehydration, loss of appatite, leathragy...if anything I'd ask them what dog food they gave him or if he ate something weird, etc...the pup should have had all its shots by 5 months..what can you do? well just keep watch of your other dogs. if your real worried put some space between the dogs to prevent cross contamination, but if the dogs have had there shots then there shouldnt be a problem.

I bought two pups awhile back that acted fine at the sellers place brought them home the next morning the female was in bad shape and dead the morning after that. The male I babied for a few more days but he didn't make it either. I felt like the seller should have refunded but it's buyer beware so it's my loss. But I'll never do any business with them and won't have anything good to say if someone asks. Jmo

The incubation of the virus is 7-10 days before any sign are shown. I have had a puppy test negative at a vets via the snap test and show symptoms the next day and be dead the next. There are also different strains that will react differently to vaccines. They are the CPV1, CPV2 and variations CPV2a, CPV2b, CPV2c There is also a human Parvovirus B19....But that is a different thread!

parvo incubation period from what I have read is 5-7 days so the 2 pups you bought were already infected and the seller should have given your money back...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

cajun1...we posted almost at the same time. from what I have read it takes about 3 days from time of contact to show up in the feces so that is probably the time when another pup can get infected as well as when a vet can actually know that a pup has the parvo. It seems that the parvo vaccine can trigger an immunity for some of the different strains but not to all at this time... I also read where the pup that survives can still be shedding off the virus in it's feces for about 21 days after it gets well or from the time it was infected...Either way...not good...

If he had the dog for a week the Virus could be in his yard or yours. Hard to tell.
It is spread extremely easy. It could have spread from someone walking in your yard or his, from a neighborhood stray. The virus is extremely resilient.

Got some dogs a while back and didn't give em the shots in the correct times, (trying to save money up and do it myself). Seems my yard got contaminated by neighbors dang dog. Lost some really good pups. Already had them baying up some small hogs at 5 months old. Broke my heart when they got it and had to watch them suffer like that. Learned lesson on that deal. Since then I have sprayed bleech on the whole yard and got another pup. She is doing fine but made sure she had shots for about a week before I brought her home...I hope the best of luck to ya, cause losing a dog over Parvo stinks. PS buy new food and water bowls for all your dogs that shared with the other dog. Not that you don't already know that.
