bear traps are dangerous.. it may work, but if u get caught with them.. boy ur in trouble.. the guy that lives behind my in laws/ knows all about it. ;ost his guns, huntin license. and much more.. and that was close to fairfield where he lives.

Any trap set to catch a person is not legal. Now if you set a bear trap to catch bears... But do not set a bear trap in a location that you know people walk. So set traps to catch whatever animal you want off people paths then post signs on all the gates or anywhere "you know" people "may" enter both legally and illegally onto the property. If they are walking down a path that you think a mountain lion walks and step in the trap on property that had posted warnings you may be alright. But lethal traps like spring guns that will kill are big trouble if you set them. There are non lethal rounds for spring gun type set-ups. They fire noise makers and stuff and scare the "poop" out of them. But do not ever set up a trap to catch a person just large dangerous animals in your area. Trying to trap a bear near Houston would not fly. But the same trap to catch cougar? If you need clarification get legal advice.
