I have seen the countless posts about all the hog hunting TV shows, and do not get me wrong I will watch them because its about hog hunting is pretty much the only reason. As for the way these shows are run there is way to much hollywood in all of this. Just saw the post about the guy needed good looking women for his show really? I dont know about any of yall but most of these shows do not depict the way we actually hunt. My dogs go find hogs I dont drive around and spot a hog and turn them loose. I like my dogs to get out anywhere from 200 to half a mile to a mile to find a hog on their own and actually hunt not sit around me and my feet or right by my horse, jeep, wheeler or whatever. And the big thing I get tired of is being so dramatic about hog hunting and hogs being so dangerous its a little overboard. Now dont get me wrong again I am glad these shows are being aired its getting our sport and way of life out in the public so maybe it will help people see that hunting hogs is not bad and we will have more places to be able to hunt. I would love to see and im sure everyone on here would love to see a show maybe not on A&E or Discovery but maybe outdoor channel or whatnot with a couple of average guys with good dogs who just love to hunt without all the Hollywood, and ploys to get people to watch like Having to have " good looking women" (dont get me wrong they are easy on the eyes ) lol but I think we need to get back to the basics and show how we really hunt hogs without all the B.S. Sorry for the rant just my 2 cents on the issue.

Your right. If they want to do a show about hog huntin it shouldn't matter what they look like. I know its tv and ther has to b some kind of plot but it needs to be all about huntin. And I like the idea of different styles also. Maybe one day someone will have a good show for the right reasons.

I agree with you totally. All this people making shows that know nothing about hog hunting telling people that actually do the hunting what to do and what to say isnt working. I would rank the shows based on the way their dogs work by Lady Hoggers, American Hogger, Hogs Gone Wild, but im not crazy about any of them. Old man once told me to let your dogs do the talking and show off for themselves, because its better to keep your mouth shut and let them wonder if your an idiot than to open your mouth and let them know you are for sure.

x2 It would really be interesting to showcase the dogs or at least I think so. The different breeds and styles. like blueticks verses curs I always like to see different dogs work and love to gain as much knowledge as I can from people who have been sucessfully raising good dogs. But I guess it would not be "HOLLYWOOD" enough.

I have figured out that it is almost easier to watch these shows on mute so you don't have to listen to there b.s. I agree with yall that they need to make a show of real hog hunters and no scripts.

It's true about the American hogger show we fought hogs for the show. Our dogs got tore up and they got all the glory. I live like 50 miles from the campells and have hunted hogs for 5 yrs around here and have never meet them. We moved here from the Waco area and only a couple people hunted hogs when I moved here or at least in this area.

They need to follow some of the guys around with a camera that are hunting in the tournaments here in south Texas. You would get a true picture of what hog hunting really is !!!! Hunt’um Up !!!
