Well got a call Sat evening around 1 that my bud had seen some hogs over on his place. The boys and I decide to get the dogs out and run the pups for the first time. My two boys got the dogs Brume, Copper, Dan, and Hank and loaded them up in the trailer. Brume is my strike dog (plott) and copper (ab/cat) my running catch dog Dan (dogo/ridgeback) and Hank (black and tan) Hank and Dan’s first hunt. We let them all run and covered this small set of woods around 25 to 30 acres, brume made a circle of about 400 yards and the pups went with him. When they got back brume went out again but the pups ran with copper he goes out around 100 to 150 so was glad to see them out working. Dan is going on one year and hank on 10 months. well came out in a opening and my oldest went back for the rig, me and Tris walked the edge of the field and old brume went out around 200 with the pups right behind him and winded a hog out in the woods around 75 to 100 yards in. all I could hear is hank just a barking first time to hunt with a hound. Well when we got there they had this sow caught. Copper on one ear and Dan on the other was real proud of them two. We tied her up to let the boys get some action and practice in thy don’t get to help that much. All in all a good hunt with me and my boys. Had a blast

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...
