Ok so my main bay dog is prego. I still hunted her when I was in town a week ago but I'll be in town for three wks and planned on hunting alot. I was just wondering and want yalls feed back bout hunting prego dogs? Iv heard some people hunt till the pups come ? Just wondering and appreciate any feed back thanks..

hunted my red gyp up-until the week she had hers, however if she gets hit ur taking a risk of losing puppies, but if shes loose baying you should be fine.. its your call no one elses!

Ya it all depends she can bay lil loose but will get gritty to stop one. Her tits havnt really droped yet just getting fat. It was wasn't a planned prego but think n hope pups will be good. Both dogs are excellent hunters n will wrk

as long as she is a loose baying dog she will be alright...this time of year she will not over heat but I wouldn't have her in a long race in the heat of the summer. as a kid I hunted mine until they wanted to stay and have pups...but I didn't hunt dangerous game and the races were somewhat short...hog hunting is a different and challenging game...

jmo but i wouldn't hunt her at all... when i breed a female i want to give her every chance to raise the healthiest pups possible... they get their exercise but no huntin

If I thought enough of a female to breed her, I definitely wouldnt take a chance of hunting her while pregnant, even if she does bay loose, a mean hog will run a dog down. I don't run mine. JMO.

If the Gyp means anything to you just leave her at home. If you want her in good health and want to give the pups a chance I wouldn't hunt her. Never know what hog you going to get on an easy bay hog or one that knows how to use its teeth and cut up the Gyp. I wouldn't take any chances man

I don't breed often but when I do, it's for a reason and I wanna give her every chance to make it possible. Good bred dogs are hard to come by and it seems like every gyp I've ever owned don't come in but every great once in awhile, and Id hate to take the time to breed and have it messed up by a stupid boar hog. I have one gyp bred now, if my ol lady would let me, I'd give her a room in the house and put her up at the kitchen table  |

If I was coon hunting, rabbit hunting, or squirrel hunting I would hunt her hard...cause I believe the pups will be getting a head start. But I wouldn't a hog dog...

Fat dogs are like fat people always move a little slower. A rough hog may get her cause she can't get away like she normally could. I wouldn't hunt her if I was you.

When we bred our female we were very careful with her at all times because our pack's future depended on that litter. But one time she was accidentally bred and I hunted the heck out of her hoping that she would loose the litter..... didn't happen.
