Maybe a mod will erase the post. They are considered game animals.

Cantexduck,

I don't know the game laws so maybe you can help me out here.   Can one hunt javelina with dogs in Texas?  I'm just not real sure what the actual issue is with this post.  It doesn't say how they killed the Jav., just that the dogs trashed on it, and then there is a pic of a dead Jav.    If you don't mind, post up the law so we can all be informed.

Thanks,
Chris

Didnt check to season bag limits for each county but the ones I did see were 2 javelinas.  The North Zone is the only counties with a season on them.
Oct. 1, 2011-Feb. 26, 2012North Zone Counties-Andrews Archer Baylor Blanco Caldwell Calhoun Coke Comal Concho Crane DeWitt Ector Foard GillespieGlasscock GoliadGonzales Guadalupe Hays Howard Irion Knox Llano Loving Martin Mason McCulloch Midland Mitchell Nolan Reagan Refugio Runnels San Saba Sterling Taylor Tom Green Upton Victoria Ward Wichita Wilbarger Winkler

South Zone  Counties have no closed season with 2 javelinas per licensed year.

If this doesnt make sense to anyone look up Texas Parks and Wildlife website.

Knife is not a legal means to take game animal. Dogs can not be used to pursue game animal so even if it was shot ,still illegal. Just don't want someone to get in trouble. I gave seen wardena use the internet. A fed warden caused a huge stink years and years ago over someone hitting an owl in the truck then taking pic of it. Call Texas parks and wyldlide if you need too.

My godfather owns a game ranch in south Texas and he said that you can take as many of them as you want if they are on your land and screwing with your crops or management activities.
