Turned out this morning in a flooded creek bottom. I turned my Pokey dog and Dolton, brother in law, turned a ten month old puppy loose.  Both hunted out good and Pokey took some sign and bayed 850 yds away.  The puppy was hunting the opposite direction 4-500 yds away and never heard the bay and didn't get in on it.  We walked all the way to the bay and pokey was bayed running in and outta thicket about half an acre.  This hog broke and ran and never slowed down.  She ran a big circle and took Pokey twenty yards behind the truck bed and went on.  We got to the bay and turned the puppy into the bay and then walked the bulldog in and caught it. At the the end from start to finish, Pokey put 7.42 miles.  It's as far as he's ever run one, they just don't run most of the time around here.  He's a touch outta shape and he showed it today, I dont think the hog shoulda got that far on him, but at least he stuck with him, because a few times especially when they went behind the truck, I thought he fell off, but we found the tracks going behind the truck which eased my mind.  She wasn't nothing to brag on but had some good color to her, alil blue sandy gilt.

Appreciate it guys.  Not much of anything to brag about, dog work was nothing exceptional, just what a dog should normally do, but they don't run as bad around here.  Now I say that and we got on a group this evening at dark and they took the same two dogs another 3 miles to bay em.  Guess were getting like the rest of the country around here.

Sure hope they don't start running like the do down here, an rcd is a must at some of our places. Either way your dogs sound like they did exactly what theyre supposed to just been skipping their pilates classes ;)red one sure is a looker! Very nice!
