Met up with Ryan ( texashoghunter1592 ) yesterday afternoon to go check out a spot I havent been able to hunt since well before deer season... Loaded up Molly, Joe and Meathead and Ryan brought his new pup... We talked with the rancher and he pointed us in the direction of where he thought the hogs were coming from... We unload the Rhino and throw the dog in the back and take off... We walk into a small bottom where we thought they might be but didnt look like there was any sign... The dogs were about 300 yards to the side of us and we decided to go back to the Rhino and hit the other side... When Molly and Joe catch up to us, they both throw there heads up and take off... They leave out of the bottom and shoot across the field... We can see Joe is right on Mollys tail and he goes to chopping on the track... By the time we get to the edge of the field, they are both bayed about 300 yards across in another bottom down in a creek... Ryans pup got lost so we called him in before heading to the bay... We could tell by the tracks going across the field that it was a pretty good sized hog... We walk within 30 yards while Ryan tries to get a video with his GoPro... The hog tries to break up the hill about the time i cut Meathead loose, but only makes it about 75 yards before he catches up to him.. The problem with only having one CD and some sure enough loose baying dogs, is that on a good hog, hes not going to have any help catching him... This hog was tossing and shaking Meathead worse than any hog ive seen him catch... The hogs ear rips and Meathead goes flying.. He hits him again and the hog finally turns where i can leg him... We loaded him up and took him to Alans (hogndogs84) place where we barred him and cut him loose... He had some good cutters on him, but the only one that needed some wound care was me when the hog kicked while i was barring him... I sprayed some Veterycin on the cut and I should be healed up in no time!!  |

Hell yeah Trenton! I like it alot.. Those bad hogs with one bulldog and loose bay dogs are the worse, glad you got it done though. Even better you removed his boys and sent him grazing again. He will be an even better trophy when y'all catch him next year

I dont do anything special, just crop a little of the top of each one. |

Old Betty would have been a good addition on that catch but how will she get there if her owner is not invited on the hunt? Poor Betty! Lol Good hog guys. I don't think I could have turned that much dog food money loose though!

Well the buying station is wanting us to hold them for a week before bringing dog caught hogs up there, the hunting ranch probably wouldnt have bought him due to his leg and maybe the rip in his ear, and i already have a few heads i havent finished boiling so I didnt need another one sitting around... I wasnt even sure if there would be any hogs on this place, so I would have hated to invite you all the way down here and then got skunked.... |

Good hog fellas!! Don't worry meathead, TANK will be on the other ear starting next Sunday! That makes 5 barrs in 1 yr boo boo we cut loose at house!
