I have heard that some Gander Mountains will swap out broken collars. I don't know if they will do trades. You might find some one on here that want to trade. Some folks like the 30s better than 40s.

Save your money and buy Wildlife Materials telemetry collar. They have been time tested and proven for 35+ years. Garmin will most likey be a thing of the past in a few years. They are allready headed down the drain in my opinion.

Dont be too jumpy to get the 40's. My order is on hold right now because Garmin has stopped shipping the 40's due to a flaw of some type in the collar. Garmin says my order will be shipped after Feb. 27th after a new batch of 40's are made. The flaw was in this batch of 40's that were made only. This is going off of what the sales manager for them said to me yesterday.

Waylon I have had three different Garmin set ups since they came out. I have been pleased with all of them but if I still had the first one I bought I would have thrown it away long ago. I sell mine every 18-24 months and buy all new. For the cost a new collar or two I can completely replace my set up and always have the newest one out there. Sell yours and go buy the new hand held and the new collars and use the longer antenna that they now come with and tell me if your opinion doesnt change. I can assure you that you will have a different opinion of the product and be able to keep up with your dogs better. Its like anything with age they are going to wear out and there will be a better model out in the future. Garmin IMO is not going anywhere and as long as there are still people running dogs I feel this technoolgy will continue to be used and improved upon.
