I'm trying to find a good hunting truck that gets decent gas mileage. I had a 97 F150 and it was killing me. The best I could do was 14-15. Any suggestions? Pics?

I bought an 80 model toyota hilux ( pickup ) 4x4, GREAT mileage like 24-25 mpg day in day out , tuff as nails, goes anywhere, runs forever $500.00 truck love it. Try your local craigslist, 79-83 are your best best, cheap and easy to work on, solid axle, geared T-case, manual trans, anyway I've went on enough but they got my vote, infact I am alway looking for another and own 2 right now  Cool

Love the yotas!  Have owned several and enjoyed each. All the four cylinder versions have gotten over 20mpg with standard transmissions. They are light weight, go anywhere, and comfortable to get around in. I feed out of mine and hunt out of and drive it back and forth to go hunting. There is a good 85 model single cab on here for sale I believe.

I have a sami and a ranger. The ranger gets about 25 with my dogbox and tool box in the back. The samurai is a blast in the woods but low on highway power, might get it up to 60 with my 33's. On the other hand im not scared to beat my sami up and ive put it through sone stuff i shouldnt have. I will lift vehicles and outfit them if yall need some work done or if you need any advice just hit me up on here.

Someone tried to steal the tire off my truck and had the wrong tools to get the wheels off so I flattened them for the time being.

It's hard to swallow paying $3000 for a 80-90's Toyota when you could buy a late 90's-early 00 model Ranger. I found a 94 Nissan that looks nice but I don't know anything about the Nissans.

Bringing it back up. I'm still looking for a truck. Thinking of looking at an 89 Yota tomorrow. The only thing I'm not too fond of is that it is a long bed. Guess I can just fill it up with a dog box!  Grin
