i tell you how you can find out which one is the best. go on foot a couple of times in that rough country. you will be buying a saddle and a long ear. it dont matter how many roads there are you will be walking at some point.

A "good" 4 legged, hunting and jumping mule is hard to beat in most hunting situations but you cant load dogs up and rotate them in hot weather. I've had some miserable hunts on mules because they were mules but most of them have been real good.

i would have to say a good riding mule hands down . spent many a night on a good coon huntin mule . now that i'm older an walking is getting tuff on me , i'm lookin for another one . gonna build me a surry type wagon to haul dogs and hogs on . and ride the mule. figure i can un hitch the surry and just go to riding when needed . would have allready had me a mule but couldn't figure out how to get the bulldog to ride behind me . then i seen a shetland pony pullin a couple kids on a surry and it all came together .. 4 wheelers and all are nice but when i'm in da woods i like to be able to hear everything around me . them machines make too much noise for me personally . as far as haulin the mule my old mule road in the back of the truck just like a dog . hell he thought he was one of the dogs i think

halfbreed put a navahoe blanket under ur saddle and let it hang out the back to cover ur horse or mules rump and tie the bulldog down short.just run a rope between ur back rings.i train mine to stay right by horse, they follow right behind my horse or beside him.its pretty easy to train them.
