What is the longest time your dogs have ever bayed or stayed with hogs?

Why didn't you get some lights and go to them?? That's great that they stayed bayed but, just curious as to why y'all left them out?

Myself I have never left them baying I have always went and helped them. So it may have took me a couple hrs to get to them but have never left them and went home when thay was baying.  Now I have had alot of long runners longest was struck at 4:30 one evng and called the dogs of at 6:00 the next morning. So run time 13hr 30 min with my cutter dog and a yr old pup out of him,  been about 2 yrs ago shortly after my hunting buddy quit lol said he had enough of all the bottom lol thay bayed about 7/8 times for about 10 min along the way. Got in one time close enough to let the bulldog go and I don't no what happened but we have never seen him again.

There are several excuses I could give but none make since to me. My hunting buddy is an older guy around 50 or 55 and he was give out from chasing the dogs and we were in his boat and his truck so I really didn't have much choice in the mattter. I couldn't even sleep knowing my 2 dogs were out all night. But God was looking over them and they were just fine.

I participated in a hunt where the strike dog was a catapults/ red tick cross. July was his name. Known for a very cold nose. We had a good luck that night if I remember properly. Caught a couple and July was off again. Bid had a tracking system but this was before gps mind you. Anyway, July got out of range and we tried for a couple hours to pick up signal. It was a Sunday nite and work in the mornin so we called it quits about 2 a.m. Next day after work Bud went out with system and found July bayed under a bridge on a huge sow. July and the Sow were both laying down. It had been about 17 hours or so.

Just a question for the guys that say 14 hr 17 hr etc. why would you leave your dogs that long? I dont mean it rudely im just curious i say a few hrs because thats how long it took me to walk to them i personally would never leave my dogs on a hog that long good way to get something killed after it gets fatigued

x2...buddy of mine had his dogs strike a hog in the afternoon and the next day they found the dogs bayed but 2 dogs had already quit barking and the tthird dog was only squeaking every now and then when she did barked.
