I'm not going to breed her. I never was planning on it. I'm going to try to have someone work with her and if that doesn't work I will have to do what I need to do.
Is she already spayed? I feel for you, I really do. It suck sometimes, but I applaud your sense of responsibility.

Marines I see as two breeds, Rottweilers or Dobermans, because Marines come in two varieties, big and mean, or skinny and mean. They're aggressive on the attack and tenacious on defense. They've got really short hair and they always go for the throat. RAdm. "Jay" R. Stark, USN; 10 November 1995

Yes, I had her spayed a few days after getting her. It really does suck, she a beautiful dog and she's great with my family its just a shame how aggressive she is with everything else. But thanks it means alot. Hopefully we can fix her aggression but if not I have to do the right thing.

I have heard of getting an aggressive dog under control. But I have heard of big foot too. How old was she when you got her? Do you know her history? I say a dog never bites without a reason but you may not know the reason. If you don't know why she attacks you can't correct the behavior. I have had to deal with too many dogs like that. People could not do what needed to be done and dumped the dogs out in the country. Then they killed other people's dog's. I lost two dogs because someone did not want to put a dog down that should have been. Some people call it a fight when I say they are establishing dominance. But to take a chunck out of another dog is a fight. then other dogs will learn to fight and you have to put down more than one dog. I used to work with guard dogs and there is no way I would put that dog out anywhere. That is a lawsuit in the making.

Like it's been said, I think rehabilitation would be possible. Im sure it would be a long hard road, but possible nonetheless. She has already been taken out of the gene pool, so I would say it's worth a shot. Also, what of her history? it may be something simple. The easy way out would be pawning her off on someone else, another easy way out would be culling her. Rehabilitating her would be a long difficult process I think. Have you consulted a professional?

Just saying in case you do not know, if this dog ever has a problem down the line or at your house you have given perty good statements that you know this is a dangerous dog and have it in your possession and control, you have to have signs posted on your property, if this dog ever gets loose and bites anything you are facing criminal and civil charges that could start at $35,000 for a lawyer to defend you in a civil trial for damages if it bites anybody. Shoot it and get out of the dog business with this bloodline or breeder who produced this idiot.

Once again I will repeat myself, she is spayed and there was never any intent on breeding her. I have signs all over my yard saying beware of dog. I am fully aware of what would happen if she were to get out. I'm going to have someone try to work with her. If he is not able to help her then we will go from there.

good luck with what ever you do! my advice is that are too many good dogs out there to waste time and money trying to correct a bad one. I had a bad one once and my blindness cause a loved one a night in the ER. Do what is right....

I still ask, how old was she when you got her and do you know of any problems that may have started this?
You asked if it could be worked out but you have not told us the cause or any facts just the problem. Without knowing that you are only going to hear to put the dog down. I have worked with dogs that were abused but you have to identify the triggers. To be honest they will always be a loose cannon but if you want to take that chance it is up to you and I would never recommend it. Like if someone asks how to base jump off a building. I will not recommend because if something goes wrong don't look at me. But if you are going to do it anyway then take precautions. After going through what you are asking about I personally will never do it again. If you give some facts I can answer better.
If you do not know the cause or the triggers then get really strong kennels and only let the dog out alobe and supervised by you. Set the kennel up so someone can give the dog food and water without going in the kennel. A two part kennel that the sections can be closed from outside so the dog can be contained to allow someone to clean the kennel. You can say you will always do it but if you have a problem and are hospitalized others may have no choice but to put the dog down. It is a lot but if you think the dog is worth it then do it.

Just wondering - how much exercise does the dog get? Have you tried running her on a bike until she can't go any longer?
Work the crap out of her, make her too tired to even think about anything else, then start some training with her, don't push it, slow. Ohh and wear some boots, cause you still might have to put one to the side of her head. I've noticed when these dogs don't have an outlet - certain issues can come up.

If I had the time, I'd give her a whirl... I don't mind workin' with that type of animal... actually quite enjoy it...
...try to bond with the dog, give her an outlet for the aggression(hogs).... socialize, excercize, educate... muzzle the dog if complications occur... drench the dog in situations... when she looks for an escape, be there for her.... lot of work... but it could work... then again... could not and be a complete waste of time and energy... lot of good dogs out there to waste effort on a cull, if it's a cull...
