Was just trying to figure out what y'all think makes better dogs males or females I know both can be grate dog so tell us what is the best dog you have hunted with male female hell tell us about it what kind was it ybmc, cat, hound, crossed hell I don't care what kind it was! open to anyone that's willing to post about it. Probably the best dog I have ever hunted with was Myles aka yellowblackmask's trooper dog he was a male dog with more heart then anything I have ever hunted with to date, now that being said my best dog is a son of trooper I call cutter my second best is a female also out of Ol trooper I call chase, 3rd best is a female. So what y'all got? O and all the dogs I listed was ybmc dogs.

The best ones were all males except for one female.

And you know what breed pookie! Kiss

The last pic of the ole man I have.

My number one as for today is a son out of him that is turning on quite nicely on left and full brother on the right is a close second.

FROM WHAT IVE SEEN OF THE DOGS IVE HUNTED AND OTHER PEOPLES DOGS IVE HUNTED WITH, MORE FEMALES TURN OUT TO MAKE GOOD HOG DOGS. BUT WHEN YOU GET A REALLY GOOD MALE HE WILL BE MORE CONSISTENT AND AN OVER ALL BETTER DOG THAN A GOOD FEMALE. BUT THATS JUST MY OPINION. THE BEST DOG I OWN NOW IS A REDDISH-YELLOW COLORED GYP NAMED DAISY. HER MOMMA WAS A BRINDLE BOXEY HEADED CUR AND HER DAD WAS WAS YBM CUR. YOU CAN TELL SHE HAS A TOUCH OF HOUND IN HER FROM HER BUILD AND SHES GOT A PRETTY COLD NOSE. SHES NOT THE BEST IVE EVER SEEN BUT SHES THE BEST I'VE GOT AND I WOULD PUT HER AGAINST MOST DOGS. SHES FOUND ALOT OF HOGS FOR ME OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS. I WOULD POST PICTURES IF I COULD FIGURE OUT HOW, BUT IM AS COMPUTER ILLITERATE AS A COUNTRY BOY CAN GET ! DONT KNOW NOTHING BUT HORSES, DOGS, AND DRILLING RIGS.

I tend to agree with you on this.  But, in general, I think most females have a deeper drive to please, or its just been my experience.  Then again, you don't have to sit males out during their "season."

Marines I see as two breeds, Rottweilers or Dobermans, because Marines come in two varieties, big and mean, or skinny and mean. They're aggressive on the attack and tenacious on defense. They've got really short hair and they always go for the throat.

Kelso.

Shortly afterward he changed to Kelso Dumplings.  Cool

All the good dogs I have delt with were unique in there own ways no two the same. So it is kinda hard to try and compare em to each other. The gyp was deeper rolling but faster on track. The males were also deep rollers but more articulate with their tracks and almost to much bottom to suit my ideal dog.

I have had Catahoulas and now I have Ybmc's, I have had a couple of good Cats but they were from old lines and people don't breed right so most Catahoulas suck in my opinion. I think males are better however I sure wish I could find a jam up ybmc female to breed my male to. But good ones can't be bought.

There we go finally some people that posted up lol now we got us something to talk about, very good looking dogs guys hogdogger98 lets see your male dog!  I agree that it seems the male dogs are more consistent and the gyps I have and have hunted with are jam up one time even outstanding,  but the next time may not hunt to good, the males for the most part hunt just about the same all the time.  Lets keep it going guys I know we ain't the only people out of 4500 that has hunted with grate dogs lol. Like I say I'm just wondering if y'all think males or females make the better dog.

The first pic is Daisy who is my best dog now and my old male dog Ug, he was a good dog too. This was my youngest boys first time to go to the bay and not have to stay at the four wheeler. It wasnt much of a hog but he was sure proud of it. The second picture is of a good boar we caught. The saddleback dog was lizzy and she was a good gyp, found lots of hogs for me. I dont know if any of yall know Cole Mcveays old dog Lanky, but she was a litter mate to him. Wasnt as consistent as him but she always found hogs, when she had a really good day she was amazing ! She disappeared off of the end of her chain about 2 yrs ago. And nobodys seen her since. If anybody recognizes her I sure would like to have her back.
