I got a call from a good buddy of mine in Buffalo that wanted to make a tune-up hunt before hunting in the Randy Bumpur's / LSWDA Memorial Hog Hunt. I had plans to make a little tune-up hunt for my young dogs also and couldn’t resist an opportunity to do a little recon and espionage on a competing team; I might even be able to do a little sabotage (just kidding). I loaded up a few young dogs and headed that way the next morning. We drop my buddy Shane’s dogs and they hunt for an hour or so before they strike a good boar. We got within 100yrds and sent the bulldogs in and the hog broke. The dogs stayed hooked and bayed up about 600yrds away. Shane went to catch his bulldog and me and Luke slipped in with one of my main cd’s and a young bulldog I have. We sent them in and sealed the deal. My young cd took some good pokes, but never let up off the ear.

Pic of the Boar

We got the boar tied, while his rat dog that he bought from Mr. Perry rolled out 400yds and bayed up.  We slipped in within 100yrds and sent the CDs in to seal the deal.  All in all, this was a good hunt to tune the dogs up, besides getting my bulldog banged up a little bit, everything hunted and looked well. I also got the opportunity to help take a 250lb hog off an opposing team’s hunting spot a week before a good tournament, can’t say I feel bad about that. Regardless, we will still be a weigh-in on Sunday having a good ol time and telling tall tales of our hunt. I look forward to seeing everyone there; this is going to be a good one.

I wish I could say I liked to hear that but Shane's on my team, I guess it's good to know he's got enough confidence in what we've got planned to catch gigs like that this week

I am glad nothing got hurt. He sent me that pic and that was my first concern. I was tunning up dogs all weekend myself. Don't know if I made a bit of difference on the dogs, but I sure got my cardio in. See y'all Friday.

Good deal, I am glad to hear that. That gyp is one of only two that I let out from a breeding I did. Shane speaks highly of you, I am glad she is getting hunted.

Richard, I appreciate you and luke driving down to make a hunt.  Had a goodtime. Lilbit and Rat needed some work. Enjoyed those pups of yours.   Tshelly took a month for rat to come around been bite three times by her all in all she's a damn  solid dog. Mr perry was and has been 100 percent honest and has went out of his way to help me with rat. I greatly appreciate him. Look forward to seeing everyone friday at the RB hunt. Should be a great time. Yall take care.

I definitely can understand that his dogs would take time to adjust. It was evident that day we hunted with him that he had a really tight handle on those dogs and they looked to that old man for everything. Mr. Perry is a good one, glad Rat has come around for you
