Cutter Bay is a professional cheerleader that is why he likes them hounds making all that noise Grin

TERMS USED IN THE FIELD
THIS IS JUST A LITTLE SECTION I ADDED FOR FUN. WHEN I FIRST STARTED HUNTING, I NOTICED HUNTERS USING TERMS I WASN’T FAMILIAR WITH (TYPICAL CITY BOY). HOG HUNTERS SEEM TO HAVE A LANGUAGE ALL THEIR OWN. SO HERE ARE SOME OF THOSE SO YOU DON’T GET LOST IN THE CONVERSATION.

.)    SHOAT- A SMALL HOG

.)    BAY- TYPICALLY WHEN DOGS BARK AT A HOG TO KEEP IT FROM RUNNING

.)    STRIKE DOG- A DOG THAT SEARCHES OUT AND FINDS THE HOG

.)    CATCH DOG- A DOG THAT GRABS ONTO THE HOG AND HOLDS IT

.)    GYP- A FEMALE DOG

.)    STICKING- TO STAB A HOG

.)    MULE TAPE- HIGH STRENGTH FLAT ROPE USED TO TIE A HOG

.)    HOBBLES- STRAPS WITH RINGS USED TO TIE A HOG

.)    BOOGER BARK- BARKING A DOG WILL SOMETIMES DO WHEN IT IS LOST

.) CUTTERS- A HOG’S LOWER PROTRUDING TEETH

.) WHETTERS- A HOG’S UPPER PROTRUDING TEETH

.)  BARR HOG- A CASTRATED MALE HOG

.)  BAYED SOLID- THE DOGS HAVE THE HOG STOPPED AND SURROUNDED (YOU MAY ALSO HEAR THIS CALLED “HEMMED UP”)

.) WALLOW- A  MUD HOLE  A  HOG WILL ROLL AROUND IN TO STAY  COOL

.) RUB- A POLE OR TREE A HOG HAS RUBBED AGAINST, SOMETIMES LEAVING MUD THERE.

.)  TRASHING- WHEN A DOG IS RUNNING OR BARKING AT SOMETHING ELSE BESIDES A HOG

.) SOUNDER- A LARGE GROUP OF HOGS

.) RALLY- WHEN A GROUP OF HOGS TAKE AN OFFENSIVE POSTURE PREPARING TO BREAK A BAY
