I bought the astro 220 when the dc 40s first came out and haven't had much problms with it until I the last few hunts it keeps losing communication and showing question marks. I've deleted the collars an added them back also calibrated the compass several times. Any ideas???

Has the handheld and collars been updated?  Another thing to do is replace collar antennas with tuff skins. They will work better than stock antennas

Idk what the deal is but I wish I could figure it out.  Its like the all my collars tooka crap at once. Dogs get anywhere over 200 yards an the lose communication or show question marks. Anyone else have other ideas?

if its not just 1 person, but several. it is probly the satilites in orbit. they may be updating them or they have changes orbital position in relation to the earths axis or it could be solor flares that have been in the media for the past month. it could be a number of things, but i bet it has to do with the satilites. the military might have also blocked them temperarly for missions overseas or a geo sinc

after reading all this...makes me want to hug my wildlife materials system... Smiley

Charles...you could be right...not exactly the same but when we evacuate for a hurricane the first thing we do is put new batteries in the radios so we can communicate...the cell phones get jammed...and sometimes, so do the credit and debit cards...so the check book comes in handy and cash is king...

I think it may have a lot to do with some solar flares that have been going on.....saw a little something about it on the news the other day.....I'm bettin' that's what it is.

Maybe solar flares is what's happening been hunting the same country I always do an having alot of problems. Y'all think rebuting the 220 and updating the collars would help?Huh??? Think goodness for the ol trusty quicktrack otherwise would have spent all night looking for dogs. I still don't tryst those garmins 100 percent cause it seems like win it really counts the aren't working. Buy a sadly admit it will spoil u. Idk how we hunted before seems like u can be constantly looking at the unit when ur huntin
