Snakes don't bother me either. But I will tear the woods down if a spider gets on me. Its pretty funny because in the warm months, big ol bananna spiders just cover the woods that we hunt in. You will never see me take the lead while going through the woods in the summer. Some guys think its funny to catch one and throw it on me to watch me have a chinese come apart ..... but they dont laugh when I pick up a snake and throw it on them.  |

I saw a guy on Hwy 80 in Longview a couple of years ago that was tripping out on shrooms. He was fighting this guy, slugging, kicking, motioning with his hands and screaming "comon and get some of this @#$%". The only problem was there was nobody there. He was seeing things like the guy in the movie "A Beautiful Mind".
I called the law on him before he hjurt someone and they cuffed and stuffed him.

i love em, but my spots havent been very productive the last few years. maybe i need to foller Waylon around! i dip em in egg/milk then roll em in 1/2 cornmeal- 1/2 flour with a little salt & pepper & fry in oil or butter!

i've always been told to cut or pinch em off above the ground & carry em in a mesh sack like taters come in & they'll be more likely to keep growin, but it dont seem to be workin here. i find less every year.  |

Took the wife and kids with me today and had a great time, wife said it was like hunting Easter eggs. LOL. Kids found several too.

I believe they grow all over, just start by looking in a bottom lying area where there is a lot of undergrowth and dying plant matter. Good luck, you will enjoy'em.

Just Google morels, there are some very informative sites about where and when to find them.
wife picked up some zatarans today. It was good, but I still like plain ole rolled in flour and fried in butter, with a dash of salt. Im going to try them on the grill one of these days, just havnt had time.
