My pawpaw saw the same thing happening in Germany. So he came to America and farmed till the war broke out and then he fought against his own family pretty much. Then he came back and farmed till he was to old. I never new him to take a handout from anybody. But I know illegal Mexicans that are the same way nowadays. I've deffinately worked with my fair share and have seen the ones that want nothin but a free handout and also the ones that work harder than any white I've ever seen so they can feed there family here and the ones still in Mexico I guess since I'm a driver for a construction company I see more illegals  than most people and have a different point of view

I agree with noah on one point we are all immigrants but there is one big big difference between the immigrants that we are vs the illegal immigrants being referred to here. Most of our ancestors came over on boats, passed through an immigration station and either went to work or joined the military to help either build or support the country and earned their rights to.be here. The illegal immigrants that flood through our borders now are not on record as even being in the country. There are many caught several times committing rapes, robberies,etc. and what do we do slap them on the wrist put them in jail.for a few weeks give them food and meds and then ship them back home so they can cross the border again to repeat the process. It seems really simple to me, in Mexico if you are caught there illegally you are thrown into a Mexican prison for an undisclosed amount of time basically till they get tired of holding you and Mexican jail is not like American jail... Then you may make it home or.you may be killed. In any other country in the world if you are caught there illegally you are severely punished or killed no questions asked. If they are here as a legal immigrant working on their citizenship then by all means let them stay and try to better themselves and their families situation, on the same note if they ate here illegally then they should be dealt with accordingly not rewarded by being able to stay in haven cities or able to get any government assistance that the have not and will not pay into to help support.

i used to do construction in my home town and worked side by side tying rebar with a mexican. he worked long hrs as we all did, and would out tie most of us. my guard unit in lufkin got activated for operation noble eagle/border security. i went down to mcallen and would see pregnant women crossing over about ready to pop. the ICE folks said they would come over, get a 30 day visa, have their kid/s. the kids are automaticly citizens, the mom didnt have to go back till the child turned 18, but by then they had already petitioned to get their whole dang family visas and on top of that, our tax dollars had to foot the bill for medicade since the illegal didnt have health care insurance. what is wrong with that? i guess we should just open our arms with a warm and fuzzy.

Immigration is simple. If humans have a chance at a better life somewhere else they will go there.

The Polish flocked to Germany at the fall of the Berlin wall because there was a better life. They were looked down upon

The German, Irish and Jews all flocked to the U.S. at the turn of the century for a better life. They were treated as they were uneducated and poor immigrants. They were looked down upon no matter what someones great grandaddy tells them now.

The Nicaraguans are looked down as dirt to the educated and "Americanized" Costa Ricans.

It is human nature. No one on this site if they had to beg for scraps of food would not do anything possible to feed there family.


I have lived in a wealthy Carribean country and they had Zero immigration problems. If a business got caught hiring an illegal the first fine was $500,000 the second fine was $1,000,000. They did not have to have a third penalty.

You take away the demand and there is no need for a supply.

Truly a subject that is fundamentally "fuzzy" in my mind... most Mexicans/Cubans (do you all see a difference socio/economically?) that I deal with are an EXTREMELY hard working people... which I RESPECT!!!!!   As long as they pay their fair share of taxes I have no problem with them.

well I work as a concrete super , 20 years ago it was all whte older men , I was the next generation , now days there arnt many young white people coming in to the trade and with over 3 hundred people in my company there are only 5 or so blacks , the mexicans build the majority of everything  in construction, the goverment knows there here , they pay taxs and get a return , they work , there on time , all of mine dont do drugs , family men , good people , good hearts , my opinion from hiring lots of people is that most white workers coming in the trade cry alot and are lazy or just one geared , if the construction trade  lost the  illegals it would take years train a new work force and there arnt that many legal people willing to work or learn the consructon trade , the mexicans havent got it at home and want a life or the so called american dream so they risk there life and family to get it , three days across the desert with little water , alot die and dont make it and then there are people here that could give a crap at all about work or the american  dream just sponging ,workers comp , disability when not disable , unemployment forever when theres plenty of work , robbing , cant seem to come to work on time or every day , drama out the a$$ , ect. I know that not all illegals are good people but I think the goverment should help the ones that can prove they have been employed for a period of time or  have a  way they can stay here and become a citizen  with out worring about being deported, I dislike any cry baby , lazy , sponge  black or white , ect . and from working around a lot of people over the years the mexicans are not them  ,  just my 2 cents

im in the same boat, lookin for a job. i been unemployed for nearly a month now, but fixn to change and aint ask for a hand out yet. not all look for a handout, but i would bet more than 75% cross over and want a handout.

 actually no noah, only 1 even gave chit about this country. the other 4 only joined to get their citizenship and bring the rest across or from the islands. iv delt with soldiers that only joined for the free education and didnt give 2 chits to even do their jobs,just wanted the free education. i have issues with soldiers who didnt join to serve their country, but for its handouts. if it wouldnt have been illegal, i would threw them out the back of helo over the desert.

You seein' exactly what I'm seein' bob...    I ain't never been too keen on unions... I believe a man should be paid for what he can do, period.   In this day and time, if you want a job... you can get one... but you got to want it... nobody gonna give it to you, nor should they.
