I have alway's ran Three stricke dogs with collars only ( Because have alot of fences to contend with) and short range catch dogs. My land is Heavy Briar and open wheat fields. This method works great off the hood in open wheat pasture, but the hogs are getting shyer and Im having to go to them in heavy brush and briar. Im am losing some hogs and others take me for a run then back to the briar and some I catch in 10 minutes. I' am starting to raise some Running catch dogs and I am raising a good looking great dane pup. To start implementing some new techniques. Just wanted to here What you hunt and how you hunt it.

We also hunt farm land. You are either in an open field of thick briars just as you stated. Like you, we also usually (not always) run 3 strike dogs and we use a lead in catch dog (pit). Depending on what time of the year, we sometimes cast the dogs and other times we let them wind from the Ranger or four wheeler.  We have a rcd pup that is 5 months old now. He is Great Dane/Mastiff x Pit/Dogo. He is very leggy, I cant wait to see how he works out.

Got cedar trees, cedar trees, and more cedar trees. I like to go to a feeder or a tank or a grain field and free cast. Then road the dogs as far as I can then walk and walk and walk wen all else fails

4 or 5 rough rough bay dogs! If its under about 200 they will catch if bigger they will bay till I get there.
Mainly hunt river bottoms and pine thickets, walk everywhere I go.

We walk hunt or out of a boat. We may have a 4 wheeler but where we hunt you dont stay on them long. To me a horse would be the best way to hunt. I have never hunted horse back but it is on the list.
