Did a little semi guided hunt for a preacher friend of mine named Andy and one of his best friends named Shane. Andys best friend growing up became blind several years ago and has always wanted to stick a hog. I was able to go home for easter so I told them we would make a quick hunt this morning before I had to head back out of town. Had them meet me by the house early this morning. They hopped in with me and we headed to Brians (txhogsanddogs). We headed over to Brians father in laws where a small group has been hanging out. Dropped the dogs and they struck after about ten min, another ten min and they had a couple lined out, lacy on one, superman and apache on another, and floyd off trying to line out another. We drive up about 150 yards for them and I turn Deuce to them. Me and Brian go walking in ahead while Andy helped Shane through the woods. Didn't hear any hog but we did hear Apache back up and start baying again. Get in there and Deuce is locked down on a good boar, about 230 lbs. Get him legged, rolled, and Andy and Shane come walking up shortly after. It was quite comical when Shane is standing about a foot and a half from this big boar grunting and chomping his teeth and shane asks "is it big?". Andy helped Shane around the boar while I still held him down. We then told Shane it was time to stick him and you could tell his adrenalin started pumping. Andy helped him place the knife and Shane made a good stick. Brian and I got dogs out while Andy prepared the boar for a Euro mount. I went back to cary the head, and we started making our way out. Brian conveniently met us had way on the rhino, bulldozing the trees on his way in haha.
We headed out and started driving towards Lacy, she was bayed up about 800 yards from the first hog. We had floyd back so we sent him in to help her. Walked up and sent Deuce and Remi (a soco daughter) They went in and caught a young sow. We got deuce off and let remi handle her for a bit (her first time in the woods and second pig to see) and she did good.
It was a good quick hunt and a little different pace for me and brian since we never stick anything. Was kinda nice not luggin hogs around and up in trailers haha. We were very glad we could make this happen so easily for Shane as well.
Deuce helping hold this boar down. Too big of a hog for Remi's first, but that is her in the background.

Remi holding the sow. She is Soco crossed with an AB catch dog, sister to Brians Dozer dog. She will be going to Brian soon as I get her a little farther along and broke off livestock. She is two years old, I think she will be a good one.

A pic of Remi on her chain
