Feed them good hunt em hard. The best training can't make up for bad breeding.

I've heard that a boxer's overbite or underbite, whichever it is, is why people don't use them. I've never looked at a boxers teeth so I wouldnt know.

a good pit is hard to beat...but they are getting harder to find..used to be most pits picked up from the pound would work... but I wonder how most boxers would do going one on one with a big boar...I have seen a boxer in a dog fight against 3 dogs and he locked on the biggest dog and before too long that dog was about to poop all over itself... I was a little kid but it was pretty impressive... Some boxers will hunt... A friend of mine had a 1/2 bmc 1/2 boxer that won many baying contests...she also was one heck of a hunting dog...didn't have much nose but with her range and drive she could produce the pork...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

Boxer crosses are very popular here but have probably dropped off a bit in numbers since the Bull Arab craze started. What does the boxer bring?
Heart Winding nose (better for us than a tracking nose in many cases) Endurance A kind, loyal and very funny temperament (theya re easy to be around)
Almost universally though Boxer crosses have weak teeth and in my experience anything with more than 1/4 Boxer will have broken teeth before they are 3 (normally the bottom ones break first). Having said that though they still work and can still catch pigs.
I wouldn't describe them as the sharpest shovel in the shed either....

I got a pit/boxer pup at the house right now who is my wife and daughters dog. She's about the sweetest goofiest dog i ever seen. Got a personality like a big ol lab. She is around hogs on a daily basis and as of yet hasn't shown them any animosity. She thinks of them as other pets I guess? I don't believe any one dog can speak for a generic outcross, but if it could I'd say based on my experience with her, you had better make sure both the pit and the boxer are accomplished catchdogs in their own right.
