I have a gyp that will strike a hog but won't stick with a runner very long she will only run about 800-900 yards then come back to us. How can I get her to stick with one I know she wants to find the pig cause when she sees one in a pen shell jump the fence and start baying.

I have one the same way.  He strikes most of our hogs but won't stick.  He is hog crazy.  Get a dog paired with her he will usually stick if there is a dog that will hang with him that he likes.

just keep it in the woods and take it to the bays let it be there for the finish and it will start sticking with one

How do you know she is running hogs ? She might be trashing or just taking a track and not being able to work it out.

Hold her back and don't let her hunt until theres a hog bayed up, then let her go.  She'll get the idea she's missing out...

I got a cur gyp does the same thing. Heck of a strike dog but no bottom. I hooked her up w a dog tht will stick w one and she stayed with one 6 hours the other day step for step. Some of the bloodlines are just short range. Use to if she stuck w one for and hour ten I was surprised. Also she wouldn't just hook up with any dog cause she is real independent just so happen la that she likes and trusts this hound for some reason. II asked a old timer buddy of mine the same question he said used to disnt have to have long ranged bottomy dogs, said the hogs would just bay up almost like they were lookn for the dogs too. So those old type bloodlines like that where they hunted those type of Hogs just don't got range and bottom in there blood.

How old is she?

Sound to me like she is a cull unless she is a young dog. I think putting her in a bay pen is the worst thing you could do. Bay pens ruin dogs IMO. The hog is always close and they never really have to work to see and bay the hog. Jmo

If shes young keep her in the woods and hope for the best, if not cut your loses and move on.

A little over 2 and what is culling? And she didn't start out in a bay pen she was started in the woods not hunting in the woods but we would turn one loose and wait about 10 minutes and do a mock hunt thats how she learned

I'd just keep her in the woods and hunt the piss out of her. Id try to find someone with a good finished dog and run her with it.

Cull mean do away with.

Sounds like a really good dog for somebody that hunts smaller places,.....not everybody wants a dog that will run a hog for 9 miles out of the country....me included.
