CRAZY DOG KENNELS

This is what we are thinking about for our kennel but its gonna be a little different then the plans show but you get a basic idea. It's gonna have 10 kennels on each side the first 9 kennel will be 5x10 and the last two will be 10x20 for our occasional puppies. Cement flooring throughout the kennel although I wanted wood.... Each will have its own dog house, an auto feeder on a timer and an automatic watering system. Will be using the 2x4 panels and 5 feet tall. With a tin roof. Any suggestions or tips on how not to break the bank doing this?

I like the concrete its sanitary and does great doggie pedicures Cheesy. But I have a question, why not have an alley way with a set of kennels on each side. Then the water bowls etc would be at the gate panel and easily accessible. Also put some solid paneling or smaller wire around your puppy pens at least at the bottom foot or so.

Have you found a source for the feeders with timers?  I've been looking on and off for a couple years since I built my pens and haven't found anything I think would work.  I did put automatic waterers in that I made up myself using irrigation timers, and they work like a champ.  Here's an old link to when I built my pens...maybe give you some ideas.  Don't know what your budget is, but I can quickly add up around $8,000 of materials just in what you have sketched out.

curdogs3006, where did you get the 2x4 wire and what gauge wire is it? i been lookin for 8ga wire and can not find a distributer that carries that thick of wiring in 6ft tall rolls. i just saw horse pannels at tsc the other day and they are 16 or 20ft long and only 5ft tall and they are $72 per pannel.

I don't know how much you plan on spending but you might look at some Tarter Kennels. You buy the different panels and build them
10 x 10 or 5 x 10. These are heavy duty kennels. They are nothing like Tractor Supply or pet store type kennels. They are built by
Tarter Farm and Ranch Supply and sold at large farm co-ops and Ag stores. They come with a powder coat finish. Mine are 3 years old
and not a speck of rust anywhere. Mine are 10 x 10 and if I remember right they were about 550. per kennel. Check out the link.

                              http://www.tartergate.com/switch.php?fn=catalog.details&cod=DKFHDG&site=gsa&emp=gsa

We put 4 x 4's across top and corrugated tin roofing on top of 4x4's. Our slab has 3 1/2 in. slope to it.
