I have 2 dogs that I run together always if I take one if the two I'm taking both the normally hunt together they are both medium to long range dogs when they hit the ground they are at 600 yards and any thing over well here recently these two dogs have been hunting very efficiently is what I'm assuming normally they will make a big circle together and come check in then roll out again well they past 4-6 hunts when I let them go one goes on way and the other goes the direct opposite and they will make a big circle the the direction they went and normally check back in around the same time give or a take 10-20 minutes between dogs first dog to bark or bay gets honored by the other dog idk why they are doing this is something wrong or are they just learning how to cover more ground in shorter time

Sounds like each dog is coming into his own as a strike dog and are wanting to be independant. Its a good thing to me you should be happy. I want each of my dogs to cover their own ground and not hunt as a pack.

I'm not disappointed in them or any thing of that sort just trying to figure them out and it's hard to say this but since they have been doing this which has only been a few hunts but they were consecutive hunts I think we have been more successful with their new tactic

Be proud of them ! Which ever one that was the #2 dog decided he didnt want to be a help dog anymore. You'll catch alot more hogs now.

my 2 best dogs hunted as a team when i first got them, and then went thru just what your talking about. now, they hardly ever are seen together unless its a very hot track, but they 100% honor each other. if you see them take the same track, park the truck and get ready to turn cd's loose cause he will be bayed shortly! sounds to me like yours are perfect!
