I have been feeding Diamond high energy for a little while and like it. when i first started i was paying 26.99 a bag and had switched from Black Gold after they went over 30 dollars, liked it alot also. With the recall they have gone up on their prices and i was curious what ya'll are paying that feed it. I paid 29.95 today and was not happy. I use about 6 bags every 4 1/2 weeks so it adds up fast.

Fed Diamond for a couple years. Price kept going up. Dogs looked great but took forever to wash down slabs due to so much chit. I switched to Tractor Supply's Retreiver High Energy and the dogs look even better and there is WAY less chit to wash out. $ 20. per 50 lbs. vs $ 29. for 40 lbs. of Diamond.

Where are you going?
I buy the Diamond high energy in the red/maroon bag at Tractor Supply in Eustis for $24 for 50#'s. If you keep an eye out they had it on sale last year for $19.99 a bag. I bought a bunch of it then.

We were buying it in bulk awhile back around four to five pallets at a time. Love the feed but they went up.on us too so we went back to retriever as well.
The way they described it to us at TSC for the fluctuating prices ..was the the area's local income plus amount sold. Local competition also has a factor but when it boils down to it they are price gouger's.
A tip is to call all the local stores within a moderate driving distance and compare in store prices. Find the lower income store with a reduced price per bag ratio and have your local store to an in house price match..plus coupons if you can time it right ..plus usually a 5% to 10% off per over 20 bags purchased. This way you can get it reasonable.

40 lb extreme at TSC is 36.99. Same bag at a local feed store is 32.99. TSC has to be getting a better price as big as they are.

It takes a while for their system to adjust. Like I said, my dogs look great on the Retriever High Energy and a WHOLE lot less Chit to deal with. I was going to feed it temporarily until I could find a better price on the Diamond but, I'll be sticking with the Retriever brand.

My opinion is the blue bag retriever way outperforms the Diamond. Can't remember but I think the first ingredient in the Diamond was corn. Meat and bone meal is first followed by corn in the Retriever.
Can't beat the Victor though. At first I could not bring myself to pay $25 for a 40#bag of food but I feed a lot less and they look great. Good stamina and less poop. Blue bag for the CD's and yard dogs and Victor for the strike dogs. I believe the price about evens out in the end.
