It is a county by county deal. The breed restriction on bulldogs is mostly Miami area...Dade county I believe.

Correct, Florida has a BAN on breed restrictions in place, HOW EVER ---Miami-Dade outlawed pit bulls in 1989, a year before the Florida Legislature passed a law banning all breed-specific dog laws.

Pretty sad that you can own a tiger in FL, but not a pit!

This is my one year old dogo.  Not yet started.  Going to start him as soon as it cools down.  I think he is going to be a 100 lb dog, I bought him a cut collar a couple of months ago and he has outgrown in.

Pitbulls aren't allowed in Miami. If your dog looks like a pit and Yiu can't prove that he's not, they do have the right to take your dog. I'm totally against bsl. Right now there's actually a petition going around that's trying to lift the ban. It's actually doing pretty well. I will try to post think link up here

Top right-Deuce (16 mo), Bottom right- Ginny (14 mo)

Deuce

A good boar for deuce at 9 mo old

Ginny and her first boar in the woods

Ginny and first solo hog

Remi 2 yr old out of Soco 1/2 dogo 1/2 ab

Remi and the first hog she had ever seen at just under 2 years old

The late Soco, one of the best dogs I have ever been around, my buddy and my huntin partner. Lost him to a bad accident, he jumped out of the kennel and went hunting on his own, finally made it back 17 hours later and was lost to kidney failure due to shock. He was a warrior! He would be six now. RIP Soco

I haven't found any good bred dogos with papers for under 1500.

Both my dogos I have now a very well bred, both hunt their rear ends off, and both have those paper things that say they are a dogo, and both dogs together didn't cost near $1500  Undecided

I guess they aint that good...

You get what you pay for. If you pay bottom dollar more then likely you'll get a crappy bred dogo. You pay high dollar you'll get a good bred dogo. Just like any other breed.

This is a huge problem with dogo "breeders" and it is a total crock of number 2.

This is the exact reason I only buy dogs from hunters not breeders.

My female dogo is the only dog I have that is not from a hunter, but her sire is also one of five Grand Champion Hunting dogos in the world. She was sent to me for FREE by a man up north, hints her nick name "yankee dog", who does not have the opportunity to prove his lines, and she is really turning it on. Its not always, get what you pay for, sometimes its "get what you work for" and this is the case with this particular dog, sometimes actually putting dogs to work and proving them goes farther than people think, and I know I am not the only person on here that has been blessed in this way. So many breeders want to buy champion dog show this and champion dog show that and breed them when they really have no idea what the heck they are doing when it comes to producing consistent dogs.

Well its a good thing I didn't say you ALWAYS get what you pay for. I said in most cases, and thats just in my opinion. I know people have great dogs that that got real cheap or for free. Hell my pops at a pit x cat cross that cost him $50 and he said its the best dog he's ever had.

I love seeing pictures like this. Dogos get compared to pits a lot. If people would just open their eyes and see how good these breeds can be with kids a we might not have these dumb breed bans
